I've got a Seagate drive, that never worked properly. It's well within the warranty period. It needs to be RMA'd. Pick it up for $20, RMA it and you'll get a replacement 2TB drive for dirt cheap.
I will refund your money if you have any problems with the RMA. I just know I'll never get around to doing this!
