I need an emergency phone for the condo for the babysitter.
Shoot me your offers, don't care what it is, it just needs to be able to call out and receive calls.

Why don't you just pick up a cheap Nokia from Petro-Canada Mobility ? They come to $19 if you purchase a $50 airtime credit..

No contracts to sign, no activation fees.. And includes VoiceMail, Caller ID, Free incoming text messages, The $50 gets you 200 minutes, and has a 180 days expiry time, which is pretty respectable (in canadian market), outgoing texts are only $0.10 within canada.

Hey for $19 for a "new" basic phone and SIM card is not bad, if you don't need web browsing, or other smart phone features. Most companies will charge you $10/$15 just for the SIM card...

And PetroCanada Mobile uses the Rogers network if I am not mistaken, so coverage is pretty good compared to other startups.
