?civic not starting?

I have an 89 dx, new battery and I just changed the oil to 5W30. The condition of the plugs and wires in not known. However its weird... I went to start my car this morning... and its almost like it lags. It turns over, but it doesnt kick it... when it comes close, I push the gas and its almost as if that makes it worse... I am getting some racing cables (better sparks) this wednesday, and I'm gonna pick up some BGK Platinum plugs ASAP... if that doesnt help, any ideas? I dont think its the injectors because when I AM driving the car, its got GREAT pickup and if I pedal it, there is no delay between the time i hit the pedal and the revs kicking up... any ideas? :dunno:

might be the distributor! check your cap, you might wanna check inside too, rotor, coil,...
