hey i just got my car back after swapping in a h22 . motor runs fine but some times it seems like my axles pops out and the car won move at all. so far it happened to me 3 times first time i towed the car back to the garage, they checked it and couln't find nothing wrong. the second time (after testing the car for 15 mins) i decide that its ok and drive home. on my way home going down hill i floor second gear and 1 second after i let go of the gas i notice the RPM just drop so i hit the gas again it revs up but the car isn't pulling at all (i was still rolling )so i pump the gas a bunch of times and clutch a few times 2 and suddenly it's back to normal . this happened to me 1 more time and after that i was able to drive the car back home normally. at first i though it was my axles that poped out of my tranny maybe but after carefully checking it ,it appeared to be in place yet the car still didnt want to move?

i dunno if any of u ever heard of such a problem but any help with be apreciated since i have to take the car back to the garage.

thanks nino

well it's in the right section now and the other 1 is deleted .

so any help at all is welcome

What do you mean when you say it feels like the axles are popping out. What sound does it make?

Is the tranny the one that came w/ the H22? Did they change your clutch or something?

We need more details...

You said they swapped the engine, what kind of car/year is the H22 installed in? I've done tons of H22 swaps and never had that happen, maybe they used the wrong axles (too short).

well i tryed to move it again tonight , and it's messed up again, the first thing that comes to mind is that the clutch IS infact slipping cept this happened b4 and then went away on its own and while the car was running properly i swear i though i was gonna brake axles rip the asphalt and shred my tires how well it was pulling so it cant be the clutch .

next off , it is a prelude tranny with lsd (jdm)

so like i say i tryed moving it tonight and it does move but barly seems like the lsd is forcing the right wheel to turn while my left wheel dont move , so basically i'm riding on 1 wheel if thats even possible.

and i do hear some sort of noise comming from the tranny, sounds something like a lose washer spinning on a rod . thats the best way i can describe the sound

when i put it in gear i can actually let the clutch go and the car wont stall, infact it's almost like an auto trying to move forward but doesn't have enough power.i really doubt it's the clutch coz i came from langelier on the 40east all the way to decarie and the car was pulling like mad.

anyways if u want any more specifics that i maybe forgot to add just ask me. the car is being towed to the shop tomorrow just that i dont want the mechanics to run circles around me , i want this fixed period.

thanks again

its a 90 integra h22 is a 96 i think with lsd . a mechanic told me that when he removed the axles to check if they were alright he noticed little metal partical inside the tranny. but like i said b4 the car runs fine sometimes and when it does i have no problem with any of the gears so i doubt it's the gears , maybe it's the lsd thats broken?

You have problem with the lenght of the axle or the cutter pin on the inner joint isnt enough open to keep the axle inside the tranny. Check this first you will probably resolve your problem !! Remove the axle and open the cutter pin with plier a little bit more. You need to feel it enter inside the tranny when you put it back. MAke sure it's hard to remove after that... I mean at least with screwdriver or something else than your hand when you pull it from the tranny !!! I hope that will help you ;)

i apreciate the reply but i checked out the axles and they seem to be fine, seems to me the problem is in the lsd , coz there are little peices of metal in the tranny and like i said b4 when the car runs all the gears are fine(no weird sounds , nothing) , but then again who knows

the piece of metal could be the last part on the axle.... If the axle pop out a little bit the end of the inner joint will strip inside the tranny and cause some metal inside the differential... I had a similar problem the first time I drove my civic with the h22a !!

get this though , the car barely moves in first and at low RPM but the higher the RPM and the higher the gear the more it moves. when i say move's i cant really go past 40km in any gear and it takes me 25 mins to get there but i can get there . so again what are ur thoughts?

i hope you'll fix your car very soon man, i'm folowing your thread since the begining because i was interested in swapin an h22a in my EG at the same shop, and i was wondering, don't you have a 3 months waranty on your swap at Nagano's?,,,,,,,, if it is the case, they have to fix it right away and do what ever it takes to make your ride drive well with no such issues, you already spent few g's on your project.

well so far everything is supposed to be taken car of. they are supposed to pick up my car today, and they will no doubt fix it. i was just trying to get as much info as possile i case they overlook something

who ever said anything about nagano?

the problem i seem to be having seems to be minor (i noticed that my axles was disconnected finally lol). the engine runs fine

ok, by the way are your axles aftermarket or costum ones made with a teg and an accord parts?
cause if i'm right there are some shops that made axles swap with a teg and an accord axles

dude bring it back and say fix the problem and call me..you paid for it right so **** that let them fix it!

driveability problem

Could be so many things by the way you describe the problem.
Improper axle sizing, cluth master rod adjustment, transmission,
very weak or broken mounts(to much movement),,proper sized axles
but may be damaged.
A road test and inspection would tell all.
Good luck
