i need lots and lots of info on the IS300...i'm looking into buying one and i need to know what i could do with...bodykit, turbo, engine and performance upgrades etc...please leave a message, on websites for this, thanks...and a price range and original power that the car has

The car comes stock with 215 hp and 218lbs of torque, in the automatic it got me a 15.4 at 91mph stock. The manual version is a little faster stock, but the manual can handle less horsepower than the automatic (about 400hp manual, and 600hp for the automatic) until you get a race transmission (Getrag 6-speed or drag automatic). There are a lot of bodykits in Japan, but most (read: ALL) will not fit over our 5 mph custom. Lot's of suspensions stuff, as the Altezza and IS are interchangeable. Engine parts are not cheap, an intake that makes some power costs about $1800 Canadian because they have to come with an ECU. The computer in this car sucks and it has to be changed...but only like 4 places in the US have been able to do this correctly (I have one of them). My car is the prototype for the Paisley/HKS turbokit, I am producing about 450 hp and on race gas I can put out over 500. Turbos for this car are not cheap, my kit cost over 25,000 Canadian (although I didn't pay that much cause my car was used for 6 month of develoment). A Stage 2 turbo kit (coming soon :D), will get you over 600whp which is about 750hp (compared to the stock 215, but look to spend about 60,000CD for that. My car is coming back to me tuesday and you will see what an IS can look like (it's getting ready for Hot Import Nights in Atlantic City).

Yea, I come to Montreal like everyother weekend. I would be up there now, but I am finishing my car for Hot Import Nights. I will be up there frequently to meet up at some car events. So far my car has been...

Lowered and riding on 18" Volk Racing TE-37s, interior electronics to monitor the turbo system, a custom turbo system with a big ass front mount intercooler all blown out through HKS parts and a big HKS muffler. And as we speak I am sanding my bodykit for the car. I am in a feature booth at Hot Import Nights, so there will be a lot of pictures up. I am competing in the 4-door mild class. Last year I came in 4th place in the mild 2-door class with an NSX (I modified my Fathers, he's in to racing too).

Here is a pic of the NSX next to the fastest Civic in the world:

Here is a pic of my turbo compared to a T-04 turbo (the pic is actually a T-61, I have a T-66 which is capable of more than 700 rwhp):

wow that's sick man , i really admire your work , i would like to know when Hot Import Nights and where ? and also ... that civic ( the fastest in the world ) how much does it run ?

Thanks for the compliment. I'm surprised people don't know about this Civic, maybe professional import racing is just bigger in the US. That Civics fastest recored time was an 8.1 at about 180mph. I have heard he has hit 7's in practice runs, but if it ain't on race day, it ain't! And now there is a RWD Celica running in the high 6's at over 200mph!

And Hot Import Nights is in Atlantic City NJ, usually get's over 10,000 people attending the show, and I think over 1,000 cars.

wow now that's a show

well if i could make it to car-fever ( june 24th at napi ) and if i see an is-300 with a huge FMIC i'll come say HI !

do i get horsepower with a simple air intake??

i got a 2002 manual IS 300 just a month ago, and im worried about loosing to one of those ugly ass cadillac CTS, i heard they were fast (cause they were made by germans), so im looking for just bit of horsepower, i was thinking a performance air intake or something, does any one have any ideas?, reasonably priced,

peace out~~

With the IS you lose horsepower with just an intake. Most of the Intakes come with a non-adjustable fuel computer to make power. The AEM intake really won't get you much, the ones to go with are SRT, Area 51, and Weapon-R...these all come with the fuel chip, the only downside is that they cost like 800-1000US. The best performance gain for the IS for a simple bolt-on is the HKS Hiper exhaust...it made some good gains.

Hi guys

Hi guys I got a 1993 GS300 with a 2jzgte engine swap and alot of mods but I think the IS300 should be good for around 600HP max auto or stick(with upgraded clutch/flywheel).When I get this car on the road I hope I can meet up with other people around town.BTW why dont you guys come to toyotanation.com some time there are a couple IS300 guys .

Nope, that's the fastest Civic in the world...hits around 180mph in the quarter mile. The driver is Stephan Papadakis and it is the AEM/NuFormz Drag Civic...and until Chris Rado hits 7's it's also the fastest front wheel drive car in the world!
