no one can deny that an average driver is MUCH better suited in an FWD or AWD car in the winter, than a RWD...that no one can deny.
The average driver shouldn't be driving anyway :p Most people don't seem to know what the Hell they're doing.

The big advantages of RWD in winter are:

(1) You know exactly how slippery it is out there. With AWD or even FWD it's pretty easy to get up and go. If you're a "typical" coffee drinking, cell phone talking, make-up applying Montreal driver...you won't appreciate how slippery it is. Until you try to stop or turn. That's when you slam into someone. RWD gives you lots of feedback so you feel exactly how much (or how little!) grip you have and naturally drive at an appropriate speed.

(2) Oversteer is a heck of a lot easier and more natural to control than understeer. And THAT is something "no one can deny." ;) If you can't control some mild power-on oversteer in the snow, then you should not have a driver's license at all.

People are just use to FWD, but i don't think AWD are better, actually on snow and ice i think they are the most dangerous. Once you lost a AWD.... i wish u the best to recover it.
I would strongly disagree. It's remarkably easy to recover from a slide with modern AWD systems. Certainly much easier than FWD.
