Haha .. Remember me? Nah I've learned to like the Genesis having driven it 4 times now. I actually like it a lot more the than any Honda/Toyota/VW I don't know how to put it other than it feels a bit like a "hybrid" somewhere in between a pony car and a "luxury" car you get a bit of both.Seeing your name as the "most recent post" I feared for the worst. But you are right, if Hyundai makes a "super" coupe V8 it won't target the pony cars, it'll go right at the Germans and IS-F.
Back on the subject.. yes I agree it will probably compete against cars such as whatever Nissan/Infinity, Toyota/Lexus and Volks make mainly due to the fact that it will most probably be a cheaper alternative. Would I buy a 40K + Hyundai? No but I could see why someone would.
I'm 21 and will never switch from Ford (Thunderbird/Mustang V8) to another brand because they don't offer me what I'm looking for. People that buy V8's from Ford/Gm/Chrysler (including me) is mainly because we like that "brute power" it's definitely a different ballpark but Honda/Toyota/Nissan are in the same one as Hyundai... That's where they could potentially gain customers IMO
