Hard not to think about Mario Andretti.
He drove almost all kings of cars, in an era where competition was tough.He had a long career, with plenty of achievements that others can only think about.
He has fathered other amazing drivers ( can't be said for many others) and he didn't die racing ( can't be said for other greats).
He was also named DRIVER OF THE DECADE by his peers.... I wonder if that has some weight.
BTW, he is not my favorite driver.
I think Gilles and Jacques rank there, as I can relate, having seen them in action.
Most people vote for a guy they only heard about after the fact.
BTW, Jacques still has it- Schumi doesn't. lol!!
