Times Of Change & the V campaign
As the fog of war sets in we are told that the incoming tyranny is for our own safety. Whether it be the TSA, the FCC or the CRTC, it seems a curtain of steel is being implemented. In the past, I’d often hear citizens complain about the interventionist government. Things were said, people got riled up but little was done. In this era of political correctness, a term coined by the czars of the former Soviet Union, few dare point the finger at the culprits. The mainstream media seems to suggest that if one is against state run healthcare, the wars or any other agenda implemented by big brother than the latter is a bigot, a racist, a homophobe and possibly a white supremacist.
The issue at hand for the ruling classes is that tactics of shame and disinformation are failing. While cable news rating drop considerably, a sense of panic is felt through the legislative branch of our North American governments. A swift movement to shut down the Internet or regulate the latter, news anchors calling for a “tone down” in debating rhetoric, members of the United States congress calling for limitations to free speech..
With current events, such as the Tucson shooting it seems to be a perfect time to convince people that all the latter suggestions should be implemented along side gun control, also known as disarming of law abiding citizens, to save us from our own will. The responses from the rising masses are campaign and petitions, browse through Youtube and you are to find thousands of videos dealing with the issues mentioned in this text. People exposing their disconcert and frustration with their current representatives, others realizing that the paradox of the left and right is a concoctions used as a release valve to quell resistance. Another curious event occurring is the appearance of Vs plastered on the walls of Universities, in bathroom stalls and on street signs throughout the world.
The V is a sign of resistance, it invokes the sentiment of victory, the hope that one can make a difference and that united our voices cannot be quelled. The French fought a military occupation using this sign. Today, fellow information warriors we are occupied. Occupied by a tyrannical rule that is vulnerable to our peaceful uprising. The V campaign is but a mere expression of the general feeling of distrust and un-satisfaction that freedom lovers have towards their respective governments and this campaign could be the beginning of something beautiful, an outcry: “We are many and you are few!”.
I cannot write these words and not conjure, in my mind the saying:
“ 'Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number,
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you - Ye are many - they are few.”
Post your Vs wherever adequate and repeat the words of Percey Shelley, let it be your dream too, the day human kind joins in realizing we are bounded by the same shackles. Let North America be, once again, the model of freedom and bravery that it once was. It is to every man and woman that has a yearning for liberty to rise and demand that our governing bodies remember that they are not to serve but we the people.
