Fiat confirms 175HP 500 Abarth to make U.S. debut in Los Angeles

I think it's going to weigh as much as a Cooper S. Right? If so it's not that impressive. I'll take the Mini.

i don't think so. a base Mini Cooper is 2535 lbs, S is 2668. A Fiat 500 Sport is 2363 lbs. So even if the Abarth is 100 lbs heavier than Sport, it's still 200 lbs lighter than the Mini Cooper S.
 
I'll take one in the awesome black and white two-tone with red pinstripe please.

wait what. u mean to tell me that my 1998 civic coupe is a full 100lbs lighter than a fiat 500? thing is 1/2 my size

2012 Cvic Coupe DX - 2597 lbs
2012 Fiat 500 C Pop - 2416 lbs

I too find the Fiat pretty heavy for its size but size isn`t always the best indicator for weight.

small cars are meant to be fuel efficient. but its not doing very well at that if its a pig =/

On my civic 99 hatchback (dx) registration, it says 2350lb, so I don't know but I would expect the coupe to be heavier... I'll try to bring it to the truck scales. My mom's 2001 focus was heavier than on the reg and the fit was lighter (without the driver in both cases).

But yeah, the 500 and the mini are ridicously heavy for their weight. Even the smart, and in addition it's slower and less fuel afficient than a geo metro/swift 1.3 (about the same weight as a smart but with 4 seats).

tu parle de ta voiture usagé de 50 000 kilometre qui neuf depasse les 40 000$ avec une Econobox a "suposément" 30 000$ neuve
 
Ca pas mal de sens ca!! J'espere que ca va etre aussi le fun a conduire que les anciennes 'hot hatchbacks' des annees '80 et '90. :)
