Is it ok to work same muscle every day?

I've heard to give a rest on your muscle, but when i work out at home, i don't do intense hour working out to the point where I'm sweating. I"m taking like 10min of different arm muscle/upper body, enough to feel them get tight soft of.

I get it for those people that work out for like an hour, but 10min (No cardio), does it still require 48hour of muscle rest?

Sounds like you're not really pushing yourself anyway but I don't see why you'd wana work out the same muscle EVERY day?

You can work the same muscle everyday, but you won't have any result of any kind.

    Unless it's your abs.

you can train the same muscle every day the way you do it. You won't gain any mass from that kind of training, but you'll get more resistance.

For 10 minutes workout there won't be any gains. I see training as mass, endurance and strenght. Resistance is the goal of women, handicaped and the elderly.

and no its not good to always workout same muscle... because by working out, you rip the muscle fibres and you dont give them time to heal

i am not looking to gain ANY mass what so ever, I'm just looking to be toned and have some definition. I've changed my diet to all light stuff and fruits and veggies. and doing cardio (Biking to work) in summer.
The workouts are just to keep my muscles intact. i am not looking to be ripped....just in shape more then anything, and any definition is bonus!

By resistance, I ment endurance, like marathons or the Iron Man competition, where you need to be able to run, swim or bike for a long time.

with the kind of training he's doing, he won't break enough muscle fibers to not be able to heal.

Like I said, you won't get any definition nor shape by doing 10 min full body workout every day.

I would suggest you to do 1 hour full body workout every 2 days. But even that have it's limits. Your body will adapt in less than 6 weeks. 10 minutes a day you are wasting your time and you are not dedicated enough. It's like you want to have some sorts of gains by doing normal daily body functions. 10 minutes man... 10 minutes!!

10 minutes makes my warm up, 15 minutes makes my abs, and then I'm on to weight training for 1 hour with 2 muscles zones. Even if we don't have the same goals you are fooling yourself about a full body workout in 10 minutes...

    In training, there's no shortcut.

Just to make things clear, I said "You can work the same muscle everyday, but you won't have any result of any kind. Unless it's your abs." Meaning you will get results if you train your abs everyday. It's not mandatory and depends of each individual. But training abs everyday WILL give you results. You can train every 2-3 days, for some it will get same or better results. Personally I need to train abs everyday since my genes gave me a natural flabby belly so I need to force them constantly to hold my belly flat. I knew some actors and rapers that were doing 1k situps (or the like) per day to keep the 6 packs.

I don't get how you can workout for 1 hour straight, i mean, there are only so many ways to work on your biceps, triceps, pecks, etc.
I do biceps, then side ways, then front (sorry i don't know the names) then do triceps, then pushups. I do each until i can barely do another, and then i repeat all of it, about 3times,

    takes 10min...

    Full body workout:

2 different exercices of 3 series of 8 reps for each body part. That's a minimum and I would advise 3 exercices for shoulders and legs.
    8-12 reps takes 30 seconds.

    biceps 2 exercices = 30 secs * 8-12 * 2 = 8 minutes + break time
    triceps 2 exercices = 30 secs * 8-12 * 2 = 8 minutes + break time
    shoulders 3 exercices = 30 secs * 8-12 * 3 = 12 minutes + break time
    Legs 3 exercices = 30 secs * 8-12 * 2 = 12 minutes + break time
    backs/lats 2 exercices = 30 secs * 8-12 * 2 = 4 minutes + break time
    abs 15 minutes

And thats not even a training oriented in endurance and definition. Endurance and definition should be around 15-20+ reps per set. Thus taking longer.

Thats an hour training assuming you are cycle every exercise without stopping. And I can tell you this training schema won't even get you good results.

I don't work out my legs during my work out, my legs get a work out with my cardio during biking, they look great right now and I'm happy with the results that is giving me.

I'm going to try what you wrote above for a week and see how i feel after that. (I don't see why i wouldn't keep it up). but back to the original questions say i follow that ^, that should be every 2-3 days correct?

You need anaerobic exercise for legs.

More 2 than 3 since it's not intense or heavy weight workout. Keep in mind your body will eventually adapt. Depending on your health levels it could be 2 to 4 months. The higher level trainer you are, the faster your body adapts.

I can vouch. And it's a pain having to switch to a new program every couple of weeks to a month. At least for me it is.
