Sorry for the delay, I know I said the pics would be up Tuesday, but with the site running slow earlier this week, and me being busy, I didn't have access to my computer (home) to upload the pics, but here they are now.
I was contacted about this car, who belongs to another of Alex's (CelicaGTS) previous clients, to give it a summer prep including engine bay, interior and exterior. As I told the owner, I've never seen a car this contaminated before. That didn't stop me though. Luckily, the owner was gracious enough to give me a bit more time to finish it up and Phil was there to give me a hand.
On to the good stuff:
Products Used:
Washing
Sunlight Soap
AutoGlym Custom Wheel Cleaner
Elegance Wheel Cleaner
Elegance All Purpose Cleaner
Elegance Clay Lube
Riccardo yellow and blue Clay
Various bushes and mitts
AutoGlym Leather Cleaner
AutoGlym Vinyl and Rubber
Correction
PC 7424XP
Blue Lake Country flat pads
Menzerna Micro Polish (used as paint cleaner when combined to the blue pad)
Protection
Collinite #845 Insulator Wax
Poorboy's World Bold N' Brite tire gel
Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant
303 Aerospace Protectant
Elegance Engine Dressing
As she arrived.
First, we got down to business in the engine bay. I must say this was a fun one to work on because of all the trim that gives a nice clean look to the compartment.
I went to grab the Engine Dressing and Phil took it upon himself to snag the camera.
All done up and dressed
Then we moved on to the interior. The carpets were each extracted and a total of 5 of these taken out of them.
Scrubbing down the leathers.
Phil being productive.
We didn't grab any after shots of the interior, sorry. On to getting the car washed. Solution of Sunlight in the foam cannon.
First we pre-rinse...
and then we foam.
After a scrub down, we rinse it off again, and get to see the "truth"
Here, it looks good...
But with a closer look, you can see how contaminated the paint was.
So we got to work with the clay bars....for almost 3 hours each.
Now, before you ask why I didn't use a chemical like Iron-X, I'll tell you that it's because I ran out and haven't received my order of it yet.
Contaminant free.
Then we brought it in to clean up the paint and give it a bit of gloss.
Final shots. It was getting close to 8pm, so there are no heavy sun shots for this one.
Permission for pictures and write-up granted by owner.
As always, thanks for watching and happy detailing!
