BMW M3 Detailed

I got myself a new toy recently and I finally got around to detailing it. I'm very happy with the car it is really an amazing machine, it has been my dream to own one since the e46 M3 was released in 2001. I did a complete job inside outside and the engine bay.

The car has only 64000 km so it's quite clean but I still couldn't wait to do my thing and make it my own.

I did and engine degrease and trim protected

The interior got a full detail with leather cleaning and conditioning and the mats were shampooed

On the exterior I did a wash and prep, followed by a 2-step polish and it was protected with Menzerna Powerlock
The wheels, tires, and trim where also protected

Enojoy

I started with the engine, it was quite dirty.

I then moved to the interior, it had a regular amount of dirt and usage so I'll just skip ahead to the finished product

Some of the plans I have for the car in the near future are
-Tints
-Blacked out kidney grills
- 19" or 20" wheel upgrade
-Replace fadded M3 badge on the back

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoyed it. I really enjoyed working on the car and I will enjoy driving it even more :D

Dude I'm not sure what to say, this thing is gorgeous and you did a great job! Can't wait to see what you'll do to it!

Very nice work! That car looks great. Major step up from the last car! (looks wise :p)

PS - Got some Sonax wax if you wanna top the Powerlock! :D

didn't want to do another blacklight test? :p Great job

Petes 53 would look awsome on that paint, if you have it.

Thanks Joey, it is definitely an upgrade I love boosted s-chassis's but this is more to my liking

as for the wax I'll put something on it I have a few different ideas

didn't want to do another blacklight test? :p Great job

Thanks I appreciated it, there's no black light going on here I wanted to get the strong durable powerlock on first as a base and I can always top it with wtv *tu*

I understand, totally agree, winter is coming also. but I told you pete because I know you use quite a lot of CG's product so I figured out you might have it. I think silverish with pearl is the best combo for pete's53.

You are free to use whatever you want tho :) haha

This car will never see winter as long as I own it lol, as of November 1st she will be nice and cosy in my garage

I still have the Accord for winter

change les quelle que bolt rouille ya a vrm pas gros et ton engine et clean en tbrk belle m3 et tres belle job !

I'm looking for exactly that oem 19s or any other nice oem's or a very select list of aftermarket wheels. I don't like these wheels at all they don't do the car justice size and offset is all wrong, they will look great on someone's 3-series looking for an upgrade though.

Looks REALLY nice.

What do you use to wash the car? What's that foam all over the car?

What product did you use for the wheels (turns purple)?

Thanks.

You know what's interesting? Since the new rule's passed, this thread is the one that has had the most interest and responses in the shortest amount of time.

Just sayin'

;)

Thanks for the comment *tu*

As for your questions

First the Foam that you see on the car isn't from any particular soap but an attachment for a pressure washer, it's designed to foam the soap all over the car and to be fast, easy and as safe as possible for the paint. Any soap will work and there are even specially designed 'foaming soaps' such as detailer's pride extreme foam formula or chemical guys honey dew snow foam. In this case because I was preping the car for polish and wax I used detergent to strip the surface as much as possible. I used Palmolive but I find it has poor foaming abilities compared to other detergents or car soaps, I normally go for the dawn which foams much more and has stronger grease cutting abilities but I ran out and was to lazy to drive down to the store so I grabbed the Palmolive I had. :p It still does the trick.

Second the wheel cleaner you see is Car pro Iron X. Its a chemical decontaminate that reacts with metal particles such as brake dust, rail dust, soot, and other metal based contaminates including some airborne dust. When it reacts with these particles it turns red/purple and actually dissolves them. This product is made to be used on the entire car from paint, to glass, to wheels etc. There is another similar product From Sonax called full effect wheel cleaner, it's based on the same technology but is more wheel specific. Both products work great so to choose between them, either way you wont go wrong.

These wheels weren't extremely dirty to begin with, it can handle much tougher jobs. Especially on German cars with LOTS of brake dust.

Here's a better example

*UPDATE*

I blacked out the front grills. for this job I used plastidip, the reason I chose it is because I wanted to keep the original grills intact. If it peels or fades I'll just peel it off and go pick up some black replacements grills, this way the cars original part can stay with the car in its original form, and I like that :D
