I got myself a new toy recently and I finally got around to detailing it. I'm very happy with the car it is really an amazing machine, it has been my dream to own one since the e46 M3 was released in 2001. I did a complete job inside outside and the engine bay.
The car has only 64000 km so it's quite clean but I still couldn't wait to do my thing and make it my own.
I did and engine degrease and trim protected
The interior got a full detail with leather cleaning and conditioning and the mats were shampooed
On the exterior I did a wash and prep, followed by a 2-step polish and it was protected with Menzerna Powerlock
The wheels, tires, and trim where also protected
Enojoy
I started with the engine, it was quite dirty.
Just like new!
I then moved to the interior, it had a regular amount of dirt and usage so I'll just skip ahead to the finished product
The mats needed a good cleaning
The jambs and trunk were cleaned as well
Now for the fun part, it's time to move to the exterior.
I started with the wheels/tires
Time to wash the car for prep
Rinced and dried
Cleaned the gas cap as well
Trim is taped up, you might notice the 'swirl city accord' photo bombing
Clay bar is done, the surface is now ready for inspection
It's in pretty good shape but will be better
I found all the deeper scratches marked them and wet sanded as needed
The inner light is made of different plastic than the outer light, the inner one is obviously more faded, it's ready to be sanded.
After all that it's on to polishing, here's some close ups of the paint and metallic after it's polished
now that polishing is done it's off with the tape
Another wash to remove oils left by the polish
Gotta clean every nook and cranny you don't want to have polish stains in the body gaps or on the trim
Dried and ready for some powerlock
The Finished Product!
Some of the plans I have for the car in the near future are
-Tints
-Blacked out kidney grills
- 19" or 20" wheel upgrade
-Replace fadded M3 badge on the back
Thanks for looking I hope you enjoyed it. I really enjoyed working on the car and I will enjoy driving it even more
