Such a gorgeous car. I'll bet the Cabrera will make for a nice replacement though.

The Italian brand, which is owned by the Volkswagen Group, has produced the last Lamborghini Gallardo at its plant in Sant'Agata, Italy.
It’s a LP 570-4 Spyder Performance model in the color Rosso Mars (red).

Since 2003, Lamborghini has produced exactly 14,022 Gallardos.

At first, it only assembled 250 Gallardo units annually but that increased over the years to its current production of around 2,000 units annually.

Prototypes of its successor, called the Cabrera, are currently doing road tests. The Cabrera should be powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine with an increase from the Gallardo’s 570 horsepower to nearly 600 horses. The new car will be made from carbon fiber monocoque, the same material used on the new Aventador.

We expect the Cabrera to go on sale sometime next year.
