Hi all,
Well, I've had my car for a few years now, and though I love it, I am completely sick at the lack of practicality. I lead a pretty active lifestyle, love to bike in the summers etc, and I figured it's time to move on to something bigger that can swallow two assembled bikes, equipment, and an automatic transmission (gf does not drive manual, and truth be told, even if she did, it would not change matters that much; I would feel more comfortable knowing she is in an SUV when she drives rather than a 330hp sports car that she could not handle should s*** hit the fan).
Long story short, in a month or so, I'll be listing my ride up for sale, and starting the search for a mid-to-full size SUV as a replacement.
Budget between 15-20k max, taxes included. Reliability at the forefront. Looking for something between 2007 and 2010 with no more than 120k km.
I originally considered the Mazda CX-7, but I am not interested in any forced induction engines. The CX-9 uses the new generation ford Duratec 3.5L, which I do not know much about. I do have quite a bit of familiarity with the 3.0L duratec, which was in my old Mazda6. It was a suitable and fairly reliable motor. However, I do not think the CX-7 or the Ford Edge (also considered those) would take the two bikes. The other alternative I've considered is the Acura MDX.
Anyhow, what would you guys suggest?
