On May 29th 2014 I got this 1993 Ford Mustang LX as my new project car.

The car is in pretty decent shape for a 21 year old .

I want to keep everything I do to that car in this thread for personal reference and if one day I sell it the new owner will have tons of info about it.

Here's what I know :

Clean CarFax ( No VGA or rebuilt title ) .

Summer 2005 car had a minor accident in Montreal ( according to the carfax ) but everything else is clean.

CarFax doesn't show how many owners except renewal every years and change of ownership in 2011 with KM registered at la SAAQ of 107,000 KM .

Car has been transfer to me on May 29th 2014 at 115,000 KM.

Car has a homemade CatBack , no cats , a 3.55 gear , new hi-torque starter , welded frame connectors , Lowering Springs ( Stock OEM cut ) and that's about it.

Everything works in the car . A/C , Cruise , Door lock , electric windows , electric mirrors , electric Lombar seats , etc.

Car is born White and has been repainted ( not original White ) at one time so it is a 10 footer paint job "Good from far but far from good" + there is paint fume everywhere in the engine bay and under the motor so I have a lot of cleaning to do but I like doing that and the car is the perfect candidate for me because it is straight and absolutely rust free since the day it was made.

Here's what I have done or will be doing on the car :

No engine bay shot since it is all stock and not very clean.

I'll bump this thread every time I do stuff to that car ( upgrade , fix , etc. ) .

Updated pics from Sept 2014 here.

June 10th 2014.

Finally I'll keep the Pony wheel look but instead to use 16"X7" with 225 tires on them I went with a Pony wheel replica 17X8 245/45ZR17 and read 17X10 275/40ZR17 with some Nitto NT555 .

I really like the look.

I had to removed the "Quad" shocks. I flipped them but still it was agains the wheels.I don't know if they make one with a shorter body ( reservoir ) ?
No quand shocks no big deal :dunno:

mets des control arms aftermarket et arrache les quad shocks.

Quad shocks sont deja arracher.
Vue que je chauffe en mon oncle pour la ca va faire mais oui je vais upgrader ca mais ca priorise pas pour l'instant.
J'ai hate en sibouere d'aller faire un tour.
Je vais aussi prendre des photos a l'exterieur parceque dans mon minuscule garage on voit rien.
Ca fait un christie de beau cul en tout cas.

Looks good! The quads only come in one style. Once you install control arms they are useless. I have a 8.5" wide wheel running a 275 and I got lucky, no rubbing at all.

Yeah 10" was a bit big but without the Quad shock it does fit perfectly and fill the back end very good.
Can't wait to pull the car out.
I was suppose to get the new alternator ( 130 amp 3G Conversion ) today but looks like it will be in only Thursday.

I'll find something to do tonight I'm sure.
My white 23th speedo gear came # 392-STE-17271-D in yesterday so looks like this will be my project for the evening unless UPS left other stuff at my door step. :D

UPR Caster/Camber plates in at 3.30 PM June 13.
Installed on the car by 6.00 PM same day.
I think I was waiting for them.
They are inexpensive plates but I was able to bring easily the camber @ -1.5 instead -3 .
I'm not using any special tools just common sense don't forget , this is not a track car .
I still haven't tried the car yet ( wheels & Plates ) but it looks better at least for me.

I still need to work on my "toe" it is slightly off and when I'm do I'll go get a alignment.

The poor 75 Amp alternator did not like my 40amp fan with A/C in town and it killed my ( don't know how old ) battery.

So I've swapped a SN95 3G 130 Amp with a Optima Red top 34/78 this should take care of the weak FOX charging system. .
I think this car at one time had a 130 Amp alternator because the wiring had been repaired and the alternator bracket was already modified .

Please don't use the 10 Ga wires. They are barely thick enough for the stock alternator let alone a 3G. That is a fire hazard waiting to happen.

Yeah.
This is why I may put the battery in the trunk this summer .
To be honest I haven't looked where the 2 cables go.
I'm a noob about those car even if at one time I owned a 87 GT Convertible also White but did absolutely nothing on it except a CatBack.
So what should I do for those cables ? ( if I don't move the battery ? )

Get about 8 ft of 4 gage and a fuse holder with a 150 fuse. Remove and discard the 2 10 gage wires on the alt terminal. I ran my 4 gage parallel to those wires. You also need to upgrade your grounds. Best place to add a ground is where your negative battery cable bolts to the block. Put one end there and the other goes to where the cable bolts on the fender apron.

*edit don't remove the wires completely but just cut off the ends and/or just leave them under the wire loom.

If I remember correctly, the red positive goes on the starter relay that is attached to the fender near battery. Then it branches out. The black negative is attached to the block, but not sure. Your stock wiring is fine for the battery, I think 02cavvy meant the wiring for alternator. Go to autoparts and get 8 ga wiring. Oh, or what he said
The underbelly of your car is cleaner than a lot of newer 5.0 I've seen! Ford was too cheap to powdercoat the diff. Instant rust.

After you guys reply to my post I Googled it and saw that it's from the Alt to one of the post on the Solenoid so this will be a easy thing to do.
Can't wait to get home to pull the car out.
I've been working on it all week but with all the rain it never went outside.
I'll update the pics. with the new wheels combo.

Ah yes, that is what I meant. Just run it to the starter solenoid. Make your life a little easier and remove the top rad hold downs so you want tilt it a bit towards the engine and just run it under the rad suppot

1st test drive.

1- The White 23 Tooth speedometer gear did bring my speedometer back to normal ( showed 10KMH too high with the Red gear ). That means since the car had a 3.55 gear installed the speedometer was off.
It is now matching perfectly my GPS.

2- SN95 (94-95)130 Alternator swap is definitely a must in a FOX. I got stuck downtown this afternoon , full blown A/C idling and the Voltmeter needle never moved from 1/2 .

3- I'm not digging my new smoked headlights combo. I may get use to them but so far I don't like it. :dunno:

4- The front is rubbing so I'll need to raise the front end if not I'll destroy my fenders.
