Air Canada 787 Dreamliner

I had the chance to check out the new Dreamliner at Air Canada's hangar yesterday. They threw a massive party for employees and guests of employees. It's beautiful inside. Can't wait to fly on one.

I couldn't believe how big the cabin was. Can't wait to fly on one. The rest of the fleet is getting new interiors

Fin 804 is a Charleston SC built aircraft...

These next gen wide bodies are true game changers.

too bad air Canada sucks ass.

Depends you compare with that... In north america they beat every other airline by a large margin.

Delta, AA, US Airways, westjet, etc all really suck ass.

AC is in a different league and has no serious competition in north america. Of course when you compare with middle east airlines or some Asian it's a different story.

AC's main focus is no longer on the CDN market but rather connecting USA, South America and European passengers.

But yet most American legacy carriers with the exception of UA are terrible.

Looks like a great plane for long distance flying...

I recently flew Air Canada Rouge.

They market it as classy... meanwhile it's the biggest piece of shit I have ever flown. If you're over 5'10 your legs/knees are going to be fucked.

Yep, when AC is rated top North American airline it gives a good indication of how terrible things are in N.A. when it comes to airlines. A very far cry from Asian Airlines, Middle Eastern and some European airlines.

Furthermore, Aeroplan is terrible and wait for the new AC Altitude Program. You get even less...

The Dreamliner is a nice jet and I hope Boeing does well.

FACT.

Rouge is the lowest of the low. I've been on all the big and low budget airlines in N.A. and Rouge is a new class by itself.

6 ft tall. Knees directly hitting the literature pouch. Still boarding. Fuck the trip is gonna be long.

they don't really market it as classy and if you think it's classy well then sucks to be you because it's just another LCC. Room on the 767s is fine but I agree on the 319 it's a joke. That's the biggest complaint. but again the planes are full so it goes to prove that people only care about price...

Here is a comparison

Can't wait for the FAA to make rules against these unsafe seating positions which prevent people from evacuating the A/C in case of emergency.

i flew twice on 787 with JAL ( tokyo to boston) 14 h of flight and amazing condtions...the a/c is great.
however air canada sucks balls in terms of competitive prices. i guess the 90% Greg is talking about is mostly companies that reserve seats. we travel twice a year and never flew with Air canada, their prices are just too damn high...

No I'm not. The planes are all full with actual people. They are flying wide bodies to destinations that were usually served with narrow bodies. As I said AC isn't waisting time with the CDN market anymore. They are focusing on markets abroad. Planes are full, profits are up. All is good for now.

I flew in this Air Canada 787 Dreamliner between Toronto and Ottawa a few weeks ago. I didn't understand why all the employees were so excited about (I had flown in a similar plane to Hong Kong with Cathay). I didn't realize it was not "out" yet. I guess they were doing test runs and we were fortunate enough to be in it.
