Can anyone explain to me the whole concept? I mean from what I read here:
http://www.lexus.ca/lexus/experience/en/home/whatsnew/whatsnew_news.jsp#Why_Buy

They are cutting the old MSRP, but they give an example as to why Canadian Lexus's cost more. Example:

"Depending on the model, however, Made-for-Canada Lexus vehicles may include any of the following features:

* Heavy-duty heaters, batteries, and alternators;
* High capacity window washer fluid reservoirs;
* More robust weather stripping and seals;
* Added paint chip protection;
* Mudguards;
* Block heaters;
* All-season tires;
* An outside temperature gauge;
* Heated mirrors;
* Towing packages (for SUVs)."

*note someone told me they will allow you to get lexus's from the us without duty??? that's why i am investigating and came upon this.

Thats all bullshit!!

US cars have all that stuff

I know for a fact that they have:
All-season tires
An outside temperature gauge (what car doesnt have this??) WTF?

As for these:
* Heavy-duty heaters, batteries, and alternators;
* High capacity window washer fluid reservoirs;

Thats reall BS...High capacity window washer fluid reservoirs??? HAHA c'mon you gotta be kiding me!! ill believe it when i see it! Its the same car, same engine, same engine compartement...how do they plan on putting a bigger reservoir?

What about people who live in northern states? Shouldnt they get all these great features for their cars? Or do they get the so-called american version? Do they freeze the asses in the winter because they dont have heavy duty heaters? Or do they have to fill up on washer fluid every 50 miles because their cars have the smaller version??

Thats rediculous!
Its the same car!

As fur duty-free lexus from the states??
Won't happen! they are made in Japan! Unless they start making them in the states, canada or mexico...otherwise you pay duty!

Heres a fun fact!!

The 2008 Lexus LX570 is 35,000$ cheaper in the states!!
Does the Canadian one have 35Gs worth of features and options and big ass reservoirs?
Probobly not! In most cases the US version actually has more features and is better equipped!

le prix des voiture va la ou est la demande... cest normal que ca soit moins cher... mais hey si on compare les prix ailleurs en france par exemple une corolla coute 40000$

What they should do is make a button to take off the traction controll in the winter because driving it like that is rediculous....

Ils ont d'autre voiture qui sont dans les 10K... leurs voiture dure plus longtemp aussi, mais bon, sa c'est a cause de la temp.

My thoughts exactly ...case closed and I feel sorry for those who fall for this crap marketing attempt by Lexus, I used to have lot more respect for them:squintfin

thats seriously lame.
I'm surprised they didn't unclude DRLs in that list.
and heated seats would have had a bigger impact than the other BS stuff they included.

+ i like how bellow the 49th parallel the weather miraculously increases by 20 degrees.

litlle story :
a friend of mine bought a bran new car( i won t say the brand) from the US , 7 months ago! the warranty was supposed to be ok for Canada and apparently other problems have been solved without any BS!so yes the warranty works !!!
This time, the problem he had, was the alternator ! When he went to the dealership they told him is because of the alternator he had (car imported from US)they can't do anyhting!
It's an "american market made" alternator which is not made for very low temperatures so "we can't claim it"!!! BS or not ...there goes the story !!!
