URGENT!!! Office 2000

I Get this message: Errors have been detected in the file C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then use Inbox Repair Tool.

Now either I am just blind or retarded cause I don't know where this repair tool is I think I need the disc (mine is f'd up).

Can anyone get me Office 2000 Premium Disk??
Or a good Copy???
or help me fix this problem??

Ok,

Let me explain something to you... the outlook.pst is the files that contain all you email, contact, calendar everything in outlook. So before you try to repair or re-install office. Us the system restoration feature. You will find it in (start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore)

Once you have done the restoration of your system your Outlook must be ok.

WARNING ***
The restoration will remove any programs install after the date you will select and replace all system files. All non-systems files on your desktop will remain there, so don't worry about pictures or anything you might have.

If it dosen't work, Use (detect and repair) in the help menu of outlook. But it will ask for the Office CD depending of what is wrong.

80% that Microsoft Detect and Repair will not work.

What you can do in order for you not to loose everything is to try to import all data in Outlook Express (mail/contacts/calendar) before attempting to resotre or repair. After you are done with the import, re-install office and the open outlook and import back from outlook express.

a pst file is a file that is used to store emails contact and all that stuff in this file instead of a microsoft exchange server you can try to move them or simply delete it if you did not use it because this file gets currupted you can forget any repairs or voodoo potions.

delete the PST and create another one.

PS: to bigjews system restore = shit and detect and repair = shit.

Never ever delete any pst files...

The repair tool they're talking about is the scanpst.exe.
I dont know exactly where it is (dont have outlook @ home) but its in there somewhere, just do a search...

And the pst files are usually located in
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
If you cant find the folder just go in your folder options and make sure you have "Show Hidden files or folders" selected...
