new painjob chipping

I just got my car completely repainted in february. Its been less than 6 months and Im ready to get a new paintjob already on the hood and front bumper. I have rock chips EVERYWHERE. considering i spent over 3 grand to get it painted, I can assure you I did everything possible to to have a safe distance from trucks, 4x4s, cars, anything on the road that might throw rocks straight at me. Since the paintjob, I have driven my car less than 40 times on the highways, so i find it HIGHLY ridiculous for this to happen. I have a rock chip on my tiny spoiler in the back! Anyone can shed some light onto why this would happen? Cheap clear? cheap paint? Not enough coats of clear?

Provided that the bodyshop mixed everything correctly and that the time between the primer and basecoat was applied in time then the bodyshop is off the hook.

Newer paints on German and Japanese cars now have harder paints, you proberly heard of paint like Mercedes CermiCoat etc.... The upside for this kind of paint is better abrasion resistant, but the downside is chipping and blistering when impacted by stones and rocks, also it is harder to get rid of swirls and scratches as the paint is harder.

It does not automatically mean that the bodyshop did something wrong.
Rock chips will happen to Ferrari's out of the dealership if rocks hit them hard enough. Do you drive a lot on the highway? Rocks chips will rarely happen below 50 km/h unless it's a big rock.

I'm sure for 3000, they did what they should have ... but it's hard to say. Was their bodywork where the chips are located? (Putty for holes or bumps,dents?)

Bring it back and ask them about it.
I've had 4 full paint jobs on my wife's civic and it did that after a few months as well.
There was no flaws, it was just rocks being thrown at the car at highway speeds
