I've edited this thread with details, it is not a summer time job, it is really full time and start date is for first week of september. there are possibilities of starting earlier but we will see how things work out.

it's warehouse environment, work alot on the computer, especially with the accounting software.

if you have any questions send me a PM, I'm not often in this section so if you're interested, or just have any questions, just send me a PM.

Thanks

********* details ***********

you receive the orders from sales, you place them. all parts and prices are supplied for you, but sometimes you will be asked to place a few phone calls to try and get a better price (when we buy a big volume, we expect our suppliers to help us since we're helping them)

then you receive the material when it gets in. you make sure it's well received in the system so that accounting can process the invoice and pay the supplier.

you prepare the stock for the jobs. make sure everything is there, make the check list, make sure it gets pull out of the inventory system. Then you hand them to the technicians or you ship it out if a sub is doing the job for us.

when systems get shipped to us, you check what is there and make inventory of it.

there are other small tasks but that's the basic of the job.

^^ X2!

how much does it pay? where's the job located? What are the daily hours? I just got a new job last week but I'm not liking it too much. I wouldn't mind finding something new soon.

it's in laval on industrial blvd....close to the 440. its from monday to friday, 8 to 5....I'm not 100% sure of the pay but I'm pretty sure it will be somewhere between 10-12$. you get your insurance plan once you've been working for 30 days

like I said though it might only be to start in september because I am on vacation in august and I am the one who knows the software best so I am giving the training, and if I go away while someone new is there he might not know what to do.

if you are a fast learner and you really need the job I can probably speak to my boss to hire right away and by august you should be good to roll on your own. you just need to settle in and get comfortable with all the procedures....you are in charge of the warehouse so a part of your job is to make sure that the stock jives (meaning you kick the person in the nuts if they touch something without your "ok")

feel free to send me your cv if you want, I'll make sure it gets to the right person.

what kind of wage is 10-12 bucks an hour for someone in charge of a warehouse?...talk to your boss and see what the wage is, laval is damn far for me to travel.

it's not a big warehouse. it's only 1500 square feet and most of the stock weighs under 10 pounds so it's not your typical warehouse with forklifts.

as for laval being too far for you...not much I can do to help you on that one lol

...1500 square feet? thats half the size of my house, thats not a warehouse that's a shop lol...

My bad man, didn't know the place was that small, I guess it makes sense now. I can't work that far for not so much cash, thanks though.

GL in finding someone!

The real honnest question everyone wants to know but are afraid to ask: Can you browse MR on the job?

;)

lol yes you can....but keep it to yourself. I go on MR everyday...I dont always post but I read a few threads....you hear it when someone is coming, there's no way to sneak up on you so it's hard to get caught. as long as the job gets done then you're good....and you dont want to get it done too fast or else they'll expect more lol

What about required experience.

if you have experience with Acomba then that's fantastic, if not then it's not really a problem. there will be a learning curve, it will be hard at first because you will need to learn the parts, learn how to be rough with suppliers when need be, learn how the procedures work and all that....as long as the person is a good learner and doesn't give up too quickly, he will be good.

ya but here my conflict i'm young, have two years of experience in warehouse environments, was curious enough to watch and analyze how other warehouses worked. I'm very interested but am worried that my age would be a factor.

How old are you?

I'm 24, and I'm not the youngest one here...

However it's not a real warehouse environment. It's a small warehouse, there is material to sort and organize, but it's not your typical warehouse where you'll see trucks going in and out. You'll spend 3/4 of your day sitting at your desk typing reports on the pc...you will have a control over cabling jobs to make sure material is available, and when the job is done, to make sure the right material gets billed.

that's one part of the job.

No man, when I was 24. I was the head buyer for 6 branches across Canada and manage thousands of products in the system, run daily report, maintain stock level, place orders to suppliers, call and ask for ETA...etc...

If you are smart, you are good for the job, so older people just do warehouse handlers job all their life and don't want to move on.

It just pissed me off when the people in warehouse mess up the order qty, then the actual QTY doesn't reflect the real stock level and I'm in fault becuase of them and the boss want me to stay late to count the stock every night and I didn;t even get 14$ per hr back then.

please send me your cv!!!! loll

seriously what SKY said is true...if you're smart, this will be easy for you. Also there are chances of advancing later on....the more you stick to the job, the more you will learn, the more you will be good at other stuff within the company...

I'm glad to hear that age is not a factor i will definitely be sending you a cv. Would you prefer by email or pm?
