kb/s is not the same thing as kbps.

umm

learn ur shit.

kb/s is the same as kbps(kilobits per second)

kB/s is the same as kBps(kilobytes per second)

1 kB = 8 kb

anyways, I'm with ElectronicBox DSL. 4300kbps(roughly 500kBps), but I'm throttled like all other DSL lines since 99% of them run through Bell. But I ping amazing to everywhere, which Bell does not.

i download at a constant 1.2Megabytes per second.
videotron extreme. its expensive, but the best internet currently available for my needs/wants.

merci, tu as l'appui du Doc Mailloux !

Used that site and my speed is
2139 kb/s

http://www.speedtest.net/

Is it normal/reasonnable?

It depends what package you are paying for and the stated maxmium upload and download speed for that package less 17% overhead !

If your package is 7,000kb/s download then it should be aroun 5,800kb/s.

Bell has been trying to get people to upgrade to their 7,000kb/s package while in reality offering them only 5,000kb/s ...so don't do it !
