Did drive both. I wouldn't get Elise, Exige only. But Lotus is faster (1 sec faster in 0-60, 1.5 sec in 1/4 mile) and has best handling ever. Practical, they are at the same level. Better torque/weight ratio. Not to mention how sexy and unique Lotus is (at least it does not look like Porsche)

Lotus has good lowspeed performance, on tracks like tremblant and calabogie it`s slow. It`s uncofortable and noisy (the s2000 is very liveable) and the engines have had a lot of oiling issues.

Looks are subjective but I find the lotus looks like a toy and can`t help but to think how limited is useage is (autocross and small tracks...the boring stuff).

Plus it`s much more money to maintain, run, insure, fix...

It`s not a bad car but comparing it to the s2000 dosn`t hurt the s2000 but more the elise.

If you still care about torque in a sportscar maybe you should start learning how to drive.
 
When shopping for a car that will go around corners well it's important to compare 1/4 mile times.
