Hey... sorry for reviving an old thread but I'm sure quite a few of you might still need answers.
[*]Does Krown offer a very liquidy rustproofing or is it more of a wax? I want to avoid the liquidy stuff.[*]Must they drill holes? The car got some sort of rustproofing when purchased brand-new from the dealer in 2002. They did not drill any holes and the body is absolutely rust-free.[*]If I go to an automatic car wash with the high-pressure jets for the undercarriage once a week in the winter, will it clean the rustproofing right off?[*]I clean my engine bay regularly. Should I have it rustproofed? I'm not keen on seeing it all greased up...[*]Will my car emit black smoke on the ride home after the rustproofing?[*]Who are you exactly lol, Mister_D?Sorry for all the questions!
Krown is OVER RATED. Too pricey for waht they offer. At the least stick with metropolitain, and its oil wich is the BEST. Wax sucks. It cracks and traps water beneath metal and wax= rust.
Drilling holes is no big deal man...get over it people, I did it on my 2 months old car im not dead everything's fine. You can choose not to but its ridiculous to hold back on this.
Why are you spending money on a automatic car wash with undercariage jets? Its absolutely worthless it doesnt clean anything, removes car wax and no it will not make it go away, not substantially.
Whats the problem with greasy inner pannels? Its protected! It keeps metal from being attacked by dead and rotten leafs wich provoque rust prematurely. I put ALL purpose THICK GREASE in my wheel wells and bottom of my doors/door sills and inner pannels just to make sure it doesnt rust. Just clean it with a degreaser when spring comes jeez do you want to protect it or not?
Lol just ask the guy to not put any oil on your exhaust, Ive been treating my car with mister d a couple of times, never had a smoky car EVER. Mister D is a member here who works in a detaling garage that does rustproofing. Many members here have dealt with him numerous time. A1 service, cheap fast and quality job.
If you really wanna go with wax because you think oil is messy, may I ask why you want to rustproof it? Cars need to be protected, with substantial ammount of oil and grease(my opinion, grease in the wheel wells keeps the paint in that area free from most stone chips. No stone chips= no rust. Body pannels need to be isolated from salt and water, oil that bitch! Just clean it when spring comes.
