Saw this movie last night, was good and would recommend. Not one of Scorsese's best, but succeeded for entertainment's sake. What you guys think? Also, has anyone read the book?
 
jvien daller le voir et c'est tres bon mais asti que c chiant jusqua la fin trouver l'énigme pi meme a la fin t pas sur encore jle recommande c un bon brain tease pas d'action en tant que tel mais c tres bien
 
I loved it.. Leo kills it again, loved the way it was filmed, the plot was great.. just when you think you have it all figured out the next scene you're back to square one..

I couldnt believe how many people I overhead while walking out, saying it sucked, or that they didn't understand... I also heard a lot of people thought the ending sucked.. definitely worth the money...

I LOVED his dreams, so fucked up..
 
Very good movie overall, not Scorsese's best but still a decent effort. Di Caprio is a great actor and the supporting cast was pretty good too.

I give it a 7.5/10
 
Went to see the movie as well few days ago. I just love it. Di Caprio did a great job again. Such an amazing actor, I really hope this guy gets an Oscar one day, because he really deserves it
 
fuck somebody ruined the ending for me i didn't know it was a mind fuck movie. fuck i didn't even watch it yet

the end kind of leaves you hanging, it lets you make your own story.
was he really a patient of the hospital or was this a brainwashing program by the government? me and my friends were debating it and we got clues for both sides

He did fake it. The last statement of the movie was " I rather die like a man, than live like a monster". He didnt want to live with the guilt of killing his wife, therefore having himself succumb to the lobotomy.

You can also see the sarcastic way he was talking to chuck about the fantasy world. Very unconvincing.

Great movie, great ambiance.

Not your simple, usual, psycho-thriller, this is pure madness!

Scorsese is one of the greatest movie-maker evah

he was obviously a patient.. and the story really doesnt suggest otherwise.. as did the book that it was based on.. ppl who think he wasn't an actually patient just didn't understand the movie... the mystery wasn't whether or not he was a patient.. it was the powerful ending about if he was faking his relapse or not.. as well as what was in his head and what wasn't.

well why then did the lady write "run" on his paper? was the lady in the cave real or imagination? maybe they tried brainwashing her first and she escaped? theres nothing that guarentees he was dreaming during those.
 
Also, cool thing I read if you guys like anagrams:

SHUTTER ISLAND = TRUTHS AND LIES

Which is mainly related to the plot of this great movie. enjoy!
 
Oh! Thanks for the reviews guys! Wasnt sure if I was going to see it but now I'll definetly go. I'm trying my best not to read the spoilers though arggghh!! ;)
 
the dead chuck was an optical illusion of slime and shit on the rock you can see leo looking at the rock and realizing it
