Que feriez-vous a ma place ?

Thought I'd post it again, since Pri seems so excited that he had to reply twice.

Fail.

From a quick Wiki search, it seems the V8 RS4 outputs slightly more HP. I guess it depends on your model preference, and whether you prefer NA or FI.

BTW, I don't know anything about these two cars, so it's just a blind suggestion.

RS4 all the way. The engine on that RS4 is a high-revving engine from factory, its a beast. The RS4 looks and feels amazing. Also, for a 2010 S4, you have to factor in how much you are paying for the 2010 status, where the 2008 RS4 been there for 2 years, so the price should be about right what you should pay for.

RS4 + magnaflow exaust + a chip = Sex. Pure sex.

2010 S4

Faster, newer, better handling, nicer interior, better engine, far better gas mileage.

Time for some facts.

- Better Gas, yes.
2010 S4 would have at least 20 to 27% better gas mileage. Keep in mind, if I buy an S4 or RS4, I wont really care about $300 to $1000 in gas difference a year.

- Faster? No.
The 2010 S4 does 333 HP, 0-100 KPH in 5.1 seconds.
The 2008 RS4 outputs 420 HP, 0-100 KPH in 4.8 seconds. The RS4's engine can go 8000RPM all day long, its designed to do so.
Its the first time Audi makes a SC V6. Lets wait and see b4 we judge it, it could be a good thing or a street into the wrong direction. Either way, its not better than the RS4's V8.

- Newer: yes.
at a price tag. You pay more for the "2010" name.

Yes, ask the dealer, u should have extended warranty, and with the 2008 RS4u would def need that. Whats the mileage on that RS4?

I forgot to mention the RS4 would be a very high maitenance vehicule, and the 2010 S4 should be no problems for at least 2 years, unless that SuperCharger has problems with it, but again, only time would tell. I dont like to buy a car where the company is first releasing something it never tried, I rather wait a year or two to see how things will go.

Depends what u want. Performance vs. price vs maintenance vs peace of mind vs gas etc at the end only u can make the decision.

RS4 = Wow factor + beast of an engine. Might be harder on gas, but come on, it's a proven engine VS. the SC in a brand new MY Chassis.

Depreciation on the RS4 over the 2 years, you will gain VS buying the S4 New and loosing even more green in 2 years.

As for comfort, I think that with either choice you're a winner compared to your STi...

Buy a cosworth Sti from the UK...

Stick with the RS4 silverbullet nailed it on the depreciation point and its one hell of a car

Coming from an sti I think you migth find the RS4 to be limited in the power departement. Handling/brakes are amazing, interior exterior look too, the engine though doesn't deliver the punch you'd expect.

The new s4 with bolt-ons (if it delivers what it should) will probably destroy it in a straigth-line but everything else is lacking.

Another option you migth want to consider is a 335xi.

Personnaly I'd go c63amg no need for awd when you have a beautifull 6.2l v8!
