I recently just got the ABS light warning in my accord. I want to know going to the dealer is the only exception to getting it resolved and look at, (this what the dealer tells me) also I notice weird performance from brakes at low speeds as if they are slipping.
What you guys suggest, cause I really dont wanna pay $70 just for them to look at it. knaw' mean?

HAd same thing on my civic. Went to the dealer. They told me my modulator was scrap and it cost 1200$. I gave them the big finger.

Right now it works fine. Not sure what was wrong with it. Still pay and see the dealer they'll reset it for 60$ and thats about it. If not find a friend that will do it for free.

Just proves dealers have no idea what their saying when they tell you to replace a big part when it was probably just a small problem that could be fixed easily or just a temporary problem.

Good luck.

well not personally, still if you call a any tuning shop they will charge less than the dealer for sure. If you need a good tuning shop where there are plenty just check the shop section the board if they can't do it they will referr you to another shop.

Every time you call a dealer, the guy will tell you to bring it in. That' show they manage to charge suckers from stupid problems that anybody could fix. Not calling you stupid, just saying that's all. Don't bring it to the dealer. Start by taking the wheels off and give your breaks a nice inspection yourself, you could find the problem just by looking at it if you know what your doing with a car. Check for rust on the ABS sensors or cut wires etc...

unplug batt from your car for agood hour , sometimes it resets it alone, if there was a error it will light up, not meaning there is a problem but maybe a glitch

abs help

check your fluid in the ABS reservior
depending on the year of your car it should be on the passenger side near the bumper / light

I had the same thing in mine and I flushed and filled my reservior - disconnected the abs relays and fuses

it has not come up since - I was missing fluid like half a cup full

if it's a 5th gen accord 94-97 then do what I say, a lot of people on other boards have had the same issue and I told them what I did and it worked

sorry about the double post

if it is not the reservoir being low / flush the brake system ( like 40 - 60 $ ) and fill it with new fluid ( only use dot 3 buy it at the dealer ) remember if you haven't flushed it, it's the stock oil from the car's sold date

if it still acts up it is probably your abs left or right front sensor
have a mechanic disconnect the sensor and re-connect it

sometimes there is a build up of crud and it's making the ABS stay on cause it's not able to read properly

hope this all helps
