So I picked up my new Jetta GLS 1.8t in January and installed my ariettas today.

Now my coilovers will be installed this weekend so the drop is already coming... Now I need to know what size spacers I will run to be flush with the fenders both front and rear.

I have some pictures here so if you can all help me out if you can judge from the pictures what size spacers I need to run.

I was thinking 20mm in the rear and 10mm upfront

wheel specs:

17 x 7.5
ET 38

you should be good with that setup, you might rub in front, not completely sure. I run 20mm out back, and 8mm up front. The front right can rub sometimes on a heavy G-out, but very lightly. FYI my wheels are the same spec as yours, but in 18"

alright thanks alot! I saw your pictures but I plan on going lower (flush/tucking a little bit of tire)

you mean rubbing on the fender side?

No, it doesn't rub on the fender side, i think it rubs on a small part of the fender liner, I haven't actually pin-pointed where it touches, but it's very minimal wherever it is. I just lowered the rear about 0.5" to even out my drop, i may got a little lower.

Moi sur mon ancien golf j'avais 25mm en arrière et j'étais assez bas sur les coilover et c'était correct ça frottait très rarement. En avant j'avais 10mm

the general rule is 10/20

side note...how are you liking the CIM Boost guage? ....i love mine :D

i broke my passenger side vent (the fins that go up and down) during the install :cry:

I think maybe 10-15mm up front and 25mm in the rear?

what do you guys think?

And I love my CIM gauge its perfect! In the close up you can see some of the damage to the plastic piece (results of my epic rage) and NOM NOM NOM broke the passenger vent but we were able to glue it back together without it showing

Same here for the damage. I was getting pissed! where did you you hook up the wiring? i used the hazard switch...was a bitch

Fait faire du Powder Coating sur tes Ariettas comme sur ton avatar ! ! ! ! ! !

Vraiment un beau look en Noir .........

Nice car and I love the vent gauge looks better than the Podi .
I did the brick of the house in front of yours btw lol.

looked through sooooo many pictures today and decided to finally settle on 10mm up front and 20mm in the rear

lol_face i don't get it haha
and ya I used the hazard switch as well... I found the hardest part was getting that plastic piece off... the rest was a breeze

Platinum Grey nooka!

You would have made rubbage with 15-25

Where are you getting your spacers from? I have 17.5 mm in the back....wondering if i should order some for the front.

i'm not sure where i'm going to get them from.... maybe ecstuning.com?
