Who the fuck cares about the LF-A when we're talking about luxury sport cars or entry level sport cars? Not some limited edition 4.8l V10 pumping out 550hp with a CF tub.

The comparaison here is with the IS-F, which surprizingly also has a 5.0 V8 with a 8 speed AT gearbox (oh, like the potential 5.0 drivetrain from Hyundai/Genesis). OMG, fucking genius.

you mentioned the LF-A first in this thread lol

It obviously won't be called a Hyundai. It will be under a new label, most likely called Genesis and it will be introduced under a new product name, not Coupe.

Nobody would cross shop a Toyota with a BMW, guess what, you will with a Lexus. American branding at its best. Look where Toyota is today, selling out all LF-As on leases at 400,000 +. Who would have thought 10 years ago.

You keep speculating about the new brand tha Hyundai will create just like you speculate about the gen coupe receiving the V8.

Again nobody is gonna cross-shop a Lexus with a BMW, Merc or Audi unless they are senior citizens. The best selling Lexus' are the RX and the LS (a toyota camry with a new nose and rear end by the way). Boring vehicles. I'll give you that the LF-A is a very interesting car but I doubt Toyota will duplicate this considering they make no profit and actually incur a loss with each LF-A they sell.

If the Genesis brand is created it will be competing with the likes of Lexus, Acura, Volvo and Saab.

With the current potential offering they have in the Genesis line up, I highly doubt that. They're going after the Germans pure and simple.

Acura? FWD Kingdom? Sorry, no way.
Saab? A beat up manufacturer with juiced up AWD galore? Nop. Saab competes with VW, and VW isn't a luxury manufacturer. Audi is.
Lexus? Yes, more like it.

They're not going to develop a luxury brand to tackle 1 manufacturer, that's rubbish. In most of their marketing material for the Sedan they targeted the germans (550i, Porsche Boxster) and ironically they targeted the CLS with the Sonata, LOL (which obviously won't even be in the Genesis lineup).

The Genesis Sedan V8 was upgraded to keep up with the German powerhouse sedans E550, 550i, A6, M56S. The Equus will need to compare with the luxury boats LS460, 750i and the S550.

Acura, Volvo and Saab have no comparable cars to the Genesis Sedan, Coupe and Equus. Hyundai have confirmed AWD development for the Sedan and Coupe. Genesis will be a RWD/AWD luxury manufacturer (sounds familiar? BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti).

If you think Hyundai doesn't have the means and ressources or whatever attribute to compete with the Germans and the 2 big JDM luxury brands, that's one thing, but to deny that this is CLEARLY where they're going in the upcoming future with the Genesis label is being horse-eyed.

so tell me, what makes a bmw frame more rust and fatigue resistant than other brands? the round plastic blue and white badge? :dunno:

forget about BMW, fake germans. There is only 1 brand out there MB, which is far ahead of anyone else. They had issues in 2000-2007, but with the new model lineup they are back to 1990s, with no one else there to challenge them. And yes their steel is of higher quality, if u don't believe me go to any body shop.

LOL, OK. If ATs are your thing, I guess MB is better.

Credibility: -10000

Magnifico makes some of the most ridiculous, narrow-minded and juts plain retarded arguments about the car industry that I have seen on this forum, and I;ve seen some stupid stuff said along the years.

Typical eurocentric badgewhore who would take as Godly any POS dished out by certain euro manufacturers. Before his old Volvo was the next best thing since sliced bread, now it's MB. Isn't it that a B200 is the best car to get for 32k+tx? LOL

U have no idea what you're talking about.

The LS is a Camry....really ? LOL. The ES is based on a Camry. It's not only the exterior that's different but also the complete interior, the soundproofing, certain suspension components and it has more available features. They are not hiding the fact that it's based on the Camry.

The rest of they're line-up though will definitely be cross-shopped with MB, Audi, Bmw, Cadillac and Infiniti by any smart shopper. All their models have direct competitors.

lol@go to any body shop
lol@bmw=fake german

nono that's not how it work.., why don't you explain to me instead how exactly their steel is of highter quality? and explain how exactly does that difference affect in real life? and how exactly is bmw a fake german?

or are you just talking out of your ass?

Yes my mistake I meant the ES. Still, its a Camry.
And yes there might be cross shopping between Lexus and the 3 Germans but deep down if someone wants a BMW they will get a BMW.

If someone wants a Lexus they will get a Lexus.

Logic, reverse it, works wonder!

I was about to say the same thing.

Whoever wants a Benz, they'll just get the Benz.

There aren;t big price differences anymore, on the contrary many times Lexus has pretty bad financing rates and like Toyota, they won't negotiate much, while with the germans there are deals to be had sometimes.

Yes that is true, but the majority of the time people want the German cars. And its evident. Tell me how many GS', LS' and IS' do you see on the roads in comparison to their German counterparts? If Hyundai tries to go after the Germans head on they will end up like Lexus.

Not if the car is 10,000-15,000$ less

THe thing with Lexus, is that their cars are the same price as the BMW

Nobody is going to buy a Genesis if it was the same price as a G37, everyone knows that. THat why the Genesis 3.8 beat the G37 in every review because the difference between the 2 cars are not worth 15,000$ extra from the G37.

If people wants to pay 15,000$ more just for a 85$ badge its their choice.

+1

G37 and IS350 are getting stomped by the 3 series because they're equally priced for equivalent features. The badge becomes the main selling point.

Hyundai's philosophy with the Genesis lineup is pretty simple, I'll state it again:

90% of the performance/luxury for 70% of the price.

That's a killer combo, money talks in this economy, louder than badges!
