So I just spilled a whole cup of coffee on my macbook...

Idiot-coffespilling-proof procedure:

Immediately remove the power cord and battery.

Sponge the visible spills.

Get a garbage bag, put the computer in, lap open, cover/drown your computer with rice. Let it dry for 2 days.

Hey MTV, I wouldnt worry

My sister spilled a glass of water on hers, the thing died, and she brought it to the mac store, they repaired it in 2 days under warranty, just in time for exams or whatever you kids do these days

my dad spilt wine on his shit was never the same, got him runnin an external keyboard now, shits pretty much a desktop now

do like Carbon Blue GT said, because even if the sensors aren't activated (wich happen 50% of the time because they're not everywhere) the corosion on the logic board will be a proof that it's been liquid damaged.

the thing you could do, (depending on the generation of the mac) is taking off the top case, or the under case (while it's shut down) and you can use like brown paper to dry everything else. than, if it's still working and you don't have any *physical proof* that's it's been liquid damaged, go cry and yell at apple to get a new one and they're going to trade if for a new.

Only thing a mac is good for

sok bro, mac's not only don't get viruses, they don't get wet. rinse the coffee off under some water and you're good to go.

Its not only you, its a typical thing that happens to all apple lovers. They have certain qualities when it comes to hand\eye coordination, fashion sense and overall lack of masculinity.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Brought it to the apple store, I told the guy straight up that coffee was spilled all over the keyboard. Rep said it's most probably just the top casing they'll need to replace... $330 since it's the macbook pro with the backlit keyboard.

I just hope nothing else is wrong with it. The computer wouldn't go to sleep when I tried... WORST possible time for this to happen with school getting intense now and all.

I guess my friend's dog is an apple hater... I coulda sworn she did it on purpose

Another good trick is to pour rubbing alcohol where the coffee spilled, it will evaporate and remove all moisture with it and should help any sticking keys. When I lived in the caribbean people would do this to their radios is they got a lot of salt water in them. Then do the rice trick as others mentioned. Good luck man!

Apple store just called, macbook is repaired. She sleeps, she types and works flawlessly.

And my warranty is still existant :)
