Congresswoman shot in Arizona in front of a supermarket

There will be, in the next few days, painstaking efforts to uncover and understand the background of Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged shooter of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. And right now reporters are generally going off of bits of information taken, primarily, from Google searches.

The most illustrative window is Loughner’s YouTube account, which appears to be hub of anti-government zealotry, obsession over currency and language standards, and, to put it bluntly, outright paranoia.

“In conclusion, reading the second United States Constitution, I can’t trust the current government because of the ratifications: the government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar,” he writes in one video posting. “No! I won’t pay debt with a currency that’s not backed by gold and silver! No! I won’t trust in God!”

There will always be guns, regardless of laws. In this case, what limited the deaths is a man, exercising his 2nd amendment right, shot back at the gunman.

All you liberal hippies that want gun bans do so because you can't comprehend that there will always be criminals with guns. By banning guns, you are only disarming the middle class law abiding citizen.

C'est une bonne chose de controller les guns, ça fait que les caves de 44 de QI ont des démarches à faire pour en avoir un...ça en décourage une bonne gang.

Je suis pas contre les guns, loin de là....je trouve que les lois ici sont correctes. Ça permet aux mordus d'en avoir tout en évitant que mononcle Marcel le trysomique alcoolique aille un glock chargé dans ses shorts.

Je parle pas des criminels genre gangs de rue, motards, mafia...eux autres peu importe ils vont s'en trouver des guns mais c'est rarement eux autres qui tuent leurs femmes ben saoul un samedi soir.

Impossible, they have INSANE immigration problems in Arizona. Even if there would be a gun BAN you would have all these aliens still walking around with guns.

The best thing an honest citizen can do is carry one yourself to protect your family and your life.

It's a much different reality than here.
 
And this is why I hesitate to move to the USA. At least we don't have random acts of violence like that here. Yes we have mob killings, but at least they kill each other and not innocent bystanders....

J'ai souvent dit sur ce forum que j'etais pas d'accord avec les lois comment ceux de l'Arizona... Je trouve ca un peu fou...

Le fameux gars de Dawson ca fesait 2 mois qui en parlait sur des forums qui voulait faire ca pis personne a rien fait... C'est pas mal plus a eux le blame que a n'importe quoi d'autre... Si y'aurait pas eu de fusils ca serait un bombe ou un couteau ou autre chose...

It's not a question of being scared of guns... it's being scared of any Tom, Dick, and Harry that could buy them.

Some people have mental issues, give them a gun, they'll solve their problems real quick.
