c300 versus 3-series which has better quality build.

I have Mercedes interiors and the way they drive
Baffles me how they command the price they do

i strongly dislike the interior of the c class. i find the dash looks cheap as crap (especially in that beige colour) and the shifter feels like your holding a piece of shit plastic ps2 racing wheel shifter. I'm convinced its actually just hollow plastic.
having said that, i drove a newer 3 series a few months ago and found the interior nice and solid, i really liked it.
BMW for me

The BMW's interior will look better if, and only if:

- it has the sports seats (not the pancakes on the non-sport models)
- it has woodgrain or brushed aluminium interior trim (that plastic/fiberglass trim looks so cheap and cracks easily)

The Merc looks better from the outside though. Especially in the avant-garde trim with the "amg" look body kit, the key fob looks better too and I think it has a bit more prestige.

The BMW is a driver's car and is really well built though.

I'd take the bimmer.

One of my co-workers has a C300 and I'm sorry to say, but his interior is really cheap. They really used cheap ass plastics, his seats squeak, his heater fan squeaks and everywere you tap on the dash it just feels like card board. Everything is hard plastic...

The BMW has better quality interior, has a nicer feel when you press the buttons and everywhere you touch it has a nice smooth and "plush" feel. It's not hard card board plastic.

And I really feel sorry for this, because my favorite brand is Mercedes and I dream of owning one, but man have I been disappointed by the new C-Class interior wise... And they are the first one who managed to ruin a Face-lift... The face lifted C-Class with the LEDs is uglier than the regular model with the regular fogs.......

I'd go with the 3 Series... But as diplomat said, make sure you get the sport seats. It's the best thing that this car has. My S4 had Recaros and when I tried a 3 Series with regular seats I was moving all over the interior of the car so I made sure I got one with the sport seats. BMW really make nice seats and they give you a lot of adjustments on them. As for the trim, that can always be changed or wrapped.

Ohh and the iDrive too... It's worth it.

Reliability=BMW

the most unreliable cars this year according to cosumer reports
1. Chrysler
and look no surprise since they are made by chrysler
2. Mercedes

A new 323 or 328 really feel cheap inside. To get a decent feeling 3 series it has to be a 335 or M3.

IMO the A4 slaughters the C klass and the BMWs as far as finishes and style.

Ive spent enough time behind the wheel of a C350, C63AMG, 325i and 335xi to conclude that the Bimmers are overall better built. The vast majority of plastics are of better quality, especially in areas where most people dont touch or cant see, basically the lower half of the dash and panels.

The Audi products probably have even better detailing but are let down by other secondary mechanical and electrical components.

Overall, i think BMW takes first prize for longevity, quality, reliability and durability.

What is so spécial about those sport seats ?

adjustable bolsters, extendable thigh support, power lumbar support, they hold you alot better and look ALOT nicer too especially with the thigh support extended, like this:

I don't find yoru post to make ay sense. Aren't they all the same exact parts but just a different motor? I'm pretty sure the Dakota leather in the 328 is the same dakota leather in the 335.

I'd be scared that Benz has not shaken off all the adverse effects from being Chrysler. I haven't driven or sat in a newer model however so I cannot judge.

From 323 to 335 it's all the same interior material. If you take nappa leather in a 323, it's the same leather in the 335. The difference is that in a 323 you can't take as many options as a 335 but it's all about the same.

I know it because I had 323 and 128 rentals and it's the same materials as my 335.

Maybe it has to do with trim options more than the engine. In mid october on the same weekend i got my 2011 C300, my brother his 2011 A4 and a friend got his 2011 323i. The 323i had a very cheap grey/silver center console that felt paper thin. I assume that if you get a stainless, carbon or wood dash, it would feel much better. It also didn't have Nav and it really felt like something was missing. The interior just really felt cheap. And i even remember him sitting in my car and he said "WOW..now i know why the Mercedes was so much more money.. it so much more quality". Keep in mind that this was the new 2011 323i that they have been whoring out. My brother test drive the 328 before buying the A4 and absolutely hated it. Felt like a downgrade in drive and quality from the 2007 GTI he had at the time. He was willing to spend the extra 150$ per month on the A4 compared to the 328i just based on how shit it felt. Not to mention he was getting an insane deal from BMW Laval since we know much of the family.

My X3 had an OK interior. But they all smell bad (BMW interior smell stinks) and creaky panels and plastics. BMW never again.

I'd like to see your source of informations about this reliability

Oh by the way.. For informations, mercedes isn't with chrysler since 2006.

What I'd like to know is how many Chrysler parts / machines are still used to manufacture their vehicles. I'll bet it takes years to turn over as all models need to be completely redesigned. Someone said the new C-Class is the first vehicle to be free form Chrysler influence. I'm anxious to try it.

Well the new E classe is completly free or 99% from chrysler, but agree with you that it sucks they didn't took off all the crappy chrysler parts ab there stuck with them.

As for the design, some of the next Generations as been
Out now, exept for Trucks. We should see the new CLK
And the next S class soon.
I anxious to for the new C class also, I'm already a little disapointed with the look, but I keep hope
