When you pay for a detail, you expect everything to be detailed. I don't care how long it takes the guy, what he does, I want the car to look as close to new as possible. What price he quotes me is completely up to him. He should've told me 500 for the job, and then i would've taken my business elsewhere.
next time DIY and STFU. End of thread
blablabla
I think the main problem here is the lack of communication between both parties. I think you were expecting much more than what you paid for and unfortunately, didn't know enough about the subject when you contact him. It's pretty hard for someone to quote an exact price without seeing the car in person.
VinceGTI explanations are pretty good at explaining why you didn't get what you were expecting for. On the other hand, maybe Alex should have been more transparent about the job he was going to do (saying what he would have clean and what he would not do). I think its not fair to compare Alex work's without any other benchmark. For example, if you went to Steve's car wash or to CelicaGTS for a detail before and paid the same amount and got a better job, then you could clearly say that Alex underperformed, by if the opposite would happen, you would have certainly been happy with Alex job's and wouldn't bash about it since the job he did would be above average.
I agree with some people that the bashing is not really fair towards him and I think you got more than what you paid for. Don't forget that a regular wash, clay and wax goes for around 80$, a interior clean up with an extractor for 150$ and a engine wash for 100$. On top of that you got a 2 step polish.
My advice to others, when you contact someone for detailing, if possible, go see them with the car and explain everything you want to be done in order to get a fair price from the start.
blah blah*KRRCSHSHHHH*
(sound of your 350z hitting a wall at st eustache)
I know MTV personally, and I'm sure he would've done a better job.
I can say with 100% certainty Steve's is of equal quality or better to CobrAAA's at a lesser price.
So in you ubber magnificence, you pretty much knew that all your "friends" and everyone and their mother would do a better job but still picked the lowest bidder instead of giving work to someone you knew????
You are one cheap class act... Btw Sans-zo is giving free samples in another thread.

My cheap Hyundai did not set me back financially so bad that I had to resort to cheap E-tugging after being butt hurt by the lowest bidder's work quality.
Great mind thinks alike. Wanna adopt a kid together?
