Speeding tickets in Labrador

I'm halfway through a road trip in nfld/labrador and I just got two speeding tickets in two days :(.

The first ticket was deserved, but for the second one I wasn't going anywhere near what the officer says I was going and it is going to be a really harsh ticket I think.

He says he caught me going at 94 in a 50 zone... I swear (and gf who was in passenger seat agrees) that I was doing somewhere between 70-75, which is still too fast but I really didn't deserve a ticket for 30km over the limit. There were two officers, maybe they got that reading on the radar, but I really wasn't going that fast.

So anyway, if this was in Montreal I would try to contest for sure but I think that would be really difficult for an out of province ticket. Does anybody have any advice for me? (yeah slow down i know, any other advice?)

Btw, drove the 389 north from baie comeau to labrador city in rain and snow and i think it is the craziest road i have ever driven! I don't believe in God but I was praying the whole time!

I think Labrador belongs to Terre-Neuve, you need to check for "Entente de réprocité" between Quebec and Terre-Neuve, maybe you won't have to pay it.

I'm not a lawyer, thus this is NOT a legal advice.

Tu dis que la route est suicidaire et que tu priais en roulant... T'as pas pensé a ralentir? T'aurais sauver du $$ pis des prières...

AFAIK, all of Canada is under the same reciprocity agreement.

However it's only the Quebec and certain states(NY, Florida, Maine) that have reciprocity agreements. The rest of the States, they'll simply fine you on the spot, or arrest you.

it's not all canada from what i know New B doesn't have it

There's a reciprocity agreement between Quebec and Ontario (for example) so it's not automaticly all Canada.

Whats a reciprocity agreement?

in short it's if you get a ticket over there
and don't pay up, the saaq while handle it for them

and if you do pay, they will tell the saaq and they will put some equivalent points onto your quebec permit

if they don't have an agreement...they will wait for you to go back in 20 year with your kids and put you in jail for a BIIIIGGGGer amount lol

Thanks for the replies, I guess I will pay up and forget about it, I suppose I wanted to know if there was anything that I could do while I was still out here. It wasn't on the crazy road that I got the ticket it was regular paved highway. The 1500 km of gravel highway between Manic5 and Red Bay that was the crazy part and I didn't get any tickets there. I never get tickets for any driving infractions I suppose that is why I was so upset about 2 in 2 days especially since I really didn't deserve the second one. But thanks all for your comments.
