gf's insurance question...

she has only gotten her license like 1.5 years ago. she's insured under her parents/family plan (she still lives with them) as the third driver on the car that she owns (2007 civic 4dr). her parents told her that their insurance policy prohibits her from driving farther than 30km from home...

has anyone ever heard of something like that? or is it a bull sh**t reason from her controlling family?


PS: I've already told her to build insurance history as a primary driver and that being the 3rd driver on the car that she owns (and that is 99% of the time driven by her) could be very problematic in the case of an accident if the insurance company investigates... (am I right on these???)

If she gets into an accident and the insurance investigate a little, they can and will void the insurance policy...

Since she is a girl, I'm sure there is not a big difference between a first driver and third. She should put it under her name.
