Under really bad conditions, trucks, pick up and such are usually going too fast imo, they feel safer and more stable but they're not.
I just drifted my Smart on a so called main street.
And what's your car? Under really bad conditions, trucks, pick up and such are usually going too fast imo, they feel safer and more stable but they're not. Last summer a full size truck drifted right in front of me under heavy rain, on le pont de l'île aux tourtes.
This is what i was referring to in case you missed it:
Those cars are so small, so light, so short with tires the size of a 50cc scooter... Under conditions that aren't 20C sunny summer day, you have to be extra careful.
I was going 35-40 with winters on lacordaire when all of a sudden all my traction disappeared pumped the brakes but the car still had a hard time to stop as it swerved and slowly bumped the sidewalk, no damage and thank god nobody behind me. Trust me after that i was going closer to 25. I've been driving for over 10 years and today was probably the worst ive seen the roads and in 20mins of driving i witnessed 4 accidents all at corners from people unable to stop. Just like the OP a lot people get over confident with the drizzle not realizing that montreal road's became a skating rink with big holes.
i looled on this thread . cuz its better to drive 20km/h then pay double insurance later !!!
Ya du monde trop peureux sur la route. Ya des gens qui se rendent pas compte que,en essayant d'etre prudent, ils deviennent imprudent pour les autres!
