UNKNOWN NUMBER Phone call hang up problem

i have this problem with my cellphone,

i get random calls from unknown number, most of the time its by evening/night time and if i don't pickup it will ring until hits voice mail.
if i pickup the call, 3secs after i answer it hangs up.

happens almost everyday and sometimes it can happen 2 or 3 times.

im with rogers and im not willing to block calls incoming from private/unknown numbers bcause i have some friends/customers who block their number on purpose.

looks like its a machine because it always hangs up at 3sec.

what should i do ?

Call your provider. Tell them.

They will tell you exactly what is calling you. I think it's a fax machine

i called and they wont... im stuck with this phone number because of work and i cannot turn off my phone during night in case of emergency. sometimes it rings at 3 or 4am its just really annoying .

what's your number?

automatics calls from rogers on my cell did the same thing for about 2 weeks each day

it was a problem on their side

make sure you remove voicemail from your plan, this is important as the service needs multiple rings before getting you the blocked number, if you dont remove VM, the blocked call will just go to VM

I have set this up for numerous people and it works just as advertised
