Selex suspension: fiable?

Salut à tous,

J'ai un 240sx (S14) et je me magasine un set de coilovers. Actuellement, j'en suis à étudier les compagnies du Québec comme STD et Selex. Cependant, les seuls thread parlant de Selex suspension traitaient de coups de fils sans réponse et de fermeture probable. Malgré ces rumeurs, j'ai reçu un email de ceux-ci ajd!

Bref, je me demandais si les coilovers et le service a la clientèle de Selex était de qualité.

I have a custom setup on my car, got them last summer. I love them but it's more involving than just putting coilovers on and lowering. you have to set them up properly otherwise your ride will be horrible.


Little piece of advice, Stiffer is not always better unless you are at a track, I was freaking out when my rear was bobbing up and down like a pogo, I had set the shocks so stiff only the spring would move, took alot of adjusting but I really enjoy them now.

explain what doesn't make sense......maybe you'll get an explanation



*Edit:

With this type of coilover design you have many adjustable features that include ride height adjustability from the preload and the shock body, you can also increase/decrease the dampening in order to fine tune it to your spring rate and ride height.

Hopefully you can understand that the more adjustments you have the trickier it gets to find the perfect setting to suit your needs and can become very time consuming since you need to make changes in incremental stages. That being said, people allways say I want "stiff" when talking about coilovers and seem to share the common misconception that stiffer is better.

In reality, you want to find the ideal balance for your specific ride height and that is only possible to get with adjustablility (hence my reference to the slap on and lower coilovers that work with progessive rates and pre-valved settings).

Setting the dampening to stiff will cause an overdamped situation that translates to a harsh feeling/crashing on sharp impacts, seams and such in the pavement, basically any instantce that the wheels 'want's to get out of the way fast'. In an overdamped system a bumpy patch of road will feel overly harsh and can cause the wheel to hop and lose contact with the ground, in essence the damping slows the suspension response in order to maximize the contact to the road.

s'ils t'ont envoyé un courriel, ça ne devrait pas provenir de Selex suspension...peut-être d'une autre compagnie à leurs noms....moi je me poserais des questions.

Pour ce qui est de la qualité du produit, les avis sont mitigés. J'ai connu des personnes supers satisfaites et d'autres pas du tout :dunno:....et c'est pareil pour STD et même n'importe quelle compagnie de suspension. Il y aura toujours du bon et du mauvais. Je me soucierai plus du statut pas très net de Selex qu'autre chose pour le moment....ils ne devraient pas faire affaires s'ils ne sont pas enregistrés...
 
Nah Bump steer if not mistaken is only when your car is dropped too much and change your tie-rod angle / geometry suspension.

ÇA ressemble a ça ou ils on fait faillite et ils fonctionnent en ligne seulement a partir d'une cave de maison

hahaha. mais je viens de leur réécrire en demandant où ils sont situé et pourquoi tous disent qu'ils ne fonctionnent plus... Bref, même s'il run encore, j'en conclu que je n'aurais pas de service si j'en ai besoin...
 
Même s'ils font affaires en ligne, ils doivent enregistrer leur business. J'ai refais une recherche avec "Selex Racing Suspension" (leur signature) et je n,ai rien trouvé. La seule chose en fonction avec le mots Selex est Selex Auto Inc. et ce ne sont pas les mêmes gars, donc pas du tout le même entreprise. Dès que tu offres un service ou un produit, tu dois t'enregistré....tu ne peux pas légalement faire affaires sinon.

tu a raison mais je suis certaine que la petite fille qui te gardais quand tu etais petite ne possedait pas d'enregistrement ... tout sa pour dire quil y a plusieurs buisness qui fonctionne ainsi, mais perso je l'aisserais tomber l'idee de Selex
 
Il aurais vendu l'entreprise. La compagnie qui a repris le tout aurais coupé la division automobile par exemple.
L'information me provient d'un revendeur et aussi de deux ex-sponsorisé au DMCC.

so tell me how a spring can move when the shock doesn't.....
