If you *******install****** anything to your car, they can, and according to them usually will, consider your car modified upon reintry. You may want to look into what those repercussions are. Basically you pay duty on the entire car's value, if it's still admissible after changes.

Can someone confirm this for me, or link me to a source for this information.

I want to know if I take a car to the State and have some work done on it, can I bring it back without troubles? Just pay the taxes on the installs? Does it depends on the mods?

Because i plan on dropping the car off in the USA for few weeks and coming back home immediately with someone. So the border guards will know my car is still in the US.
I'll be picking it up after when its ready and back in the same day.

Just want to know if I am allowed to mod the car in the States without troubles getting back home.

How would they know?

US and Canadian border patrols don't communicate any sort of info.... yet.

Even if they knew you're leaving the car there, there's nothing they can do about it.

well im guessing when you pass the border they have a pic of ur car and plate. So if the guy goes in wearing steelies and comes back with 19's worth 4k they might see the difference. But obviously if your installing a turbo or some of the likes they cant say anything
