After having 2 babies in the last years and seeing some other petrolheads seeing this as the end,
I feel I need to help you guys see the good and bad sides of what having a baby really involves for us.

Pro: You now have dedicated time on a daily basis to work on your car during his afternoon nap
Con: usage of powertools and compressor is not allowed

Con: Your car part budget suddenly changed to a diaper budget
Pro: You finaly have big enough boxes to ship your car parts when selling them through ebay

Pro: You can spend 1 hour searching through all the hotwheels at your local store and buy all the ones you want
Con: You have to give them to your baby who will certainly damage them

Con: You have to start looking at station wagons for your daildriver
Pro: You realize all the space there is in the trunk for when you go pick up parts

Con: You realize the the lamborghini Gallardo is not a practible dream car
Pro: A quick google search teaches you the Audi RS6 Avant has the same engine

Pro: Someone else is interested in your car magazines
Con: after looking at the pictures for few minutes he starts shredding the pages

Pro: You find out Recaro makes a baby seat
Con: You realize it is illegal in Canada

Pro: Your wife realizes you need time to yourself and doesn't interfere when you say you need to go work on your car
Con: She has the same need for time to herself

Pro: You can teach them about fuel injection and how engine works
Con: By the time they have a car all cars will be electric so combustion engines knowledge you gave him is meaningless

hahaha good stuff!!

we'll see how much time left i'll have after my son is born!

as for wagons, i was already addicted to them, as well as my gf! ;)

Haha, nice

I just had my 1st son 2 months ago. Its great but ya, you go from looking at high end exhausts to high end baby monitors lol

I know one thing that sucks is that since its no longer just me and the wife, my car won't work for 3 people.

So my time with the Z will go down when we have to go somewhere as a family. Unless, we take both cars and I drive behind, which she said I could do sometimes lol.

Damn you for inverting the ''pro'' and ''con'' form an example to another.

Also, quick fix:

Pro: Your wife realizes you need time to yourself and doesn't interfere when you say you need to go work on your car
Pro: She has the same need for time to herself

they don't meet some kind of canadian regulation

FALSE

Recaro just doesn't want to pay to have the bullshit seal of approval of Canada.
The process is expensive and hell long.

Test in Germany regarding babyseat are made at higher speed that Canadian test and Recaro over passed Britax which are "Canada Approved"

Having the government dictate in which brand and model your kid can sit is total bullshit.
Making recommendation is one thing but we loved to make thing so complicated to other to bring their product in Canada and am talking from experience.

I am building modular panel for Cleanroom which are 30 year minimum upfront of what we currently use in Canada but i have to pass so many stupid regulation and test (which cost a sh*t load of $$$$$) it's amazing, funy that the product they currently used didn't have to go though all those same test. I'll like to see what the flex point of drywall ? What is the break point of drywall ?..... not even 1 of 1000 of the product we have but we could be a danger to society so.... we have to pay thens of thousand of dollars to satisfy some dumbass engineer in Ottawa.

con: you now drive like a grand-pa for your family security
pro: less wear on the car, less gas consumption, less tickets and all that saved money to go on the track!
