Photoshoot: My first photoshoot (food, not automotive)

Here's my first photoshoot of food on a cookbook my mom is making. i literally got the camera the day before, played around for a bit, then went on youtube to learn how to take some pics.

Yes, I KNOW the DOF is shallow (the blurrieness) I did not know I could change that with the apeture! the next photoshoot will be less blurry (I was trashed in a photography forum and actually started feeling bad about these pics after my friends and family said they loved the shots)

there is no color correction yet, these are all straight from the camera and resized.

Very nice pictures for a first shoot.
Now you just need to learn how to post process them a little bit to improve the quality !

Yeah, have not post proccessed yet. That's the part I'm good at too ;)

I took like 50-100 pictures of each plate. Lightroom was a godsent!

Nice job, those look great. I'm no food photographer, but for some photos, the DOF works for them.

Of course, if it's a "commercial shoot" that you want the whole plate to be in focus, it would be different. But for the most part, I love how the DOF "softens" the background into a blur.

i think they look pretty good

Crypt, you impress me!!!!!

Very nicely done!

Thanks Guys :)

I Totally agree, Next shoot I will have the entire plate in focus, I cannot go back in time and retake these shots. I did not know I was able to change the depth of the area in focus, now I know! :)
