I just went to pick up stuff from Freeport on Wednesday. I live on the South Shore of Montreal.
Took me 30 mins to get there, cause I didn't want to get any tickets (got 2 last week). At the border, only one lane was open. The left lane had one car being checked by the officers, and another one waiting behind. I moved over to the right lane where there was no one. Two border officers asked me for my keys, opened my trunk, looked around, and I was on the road again in 2 minutes. 3 minutes later, I'm at freeport.
I spend 2 hours there because UPS damaged 2 of my 5 boxes, so I had to settle that. Drove back, and paid $90 duties on $500 worth of goods.
On the way home, I stopped by the Dix30 car meet.
Total travel time was as long as it would have taken me to drive to the west-island, or in Montreal traffic at 4-6 in the evening (which would have been much longer.)
