Laval reference wasn't derogatory, I was implying that people (and companies) who are complaining should disassociate themselves from the event if they're not happy with it.

Failing that, don't be surprised when a La Presse "undercover" reporter writes an article about "A near fatal accident at a car meet in Laval supported by XYZ company". They love to do shit like that.

I've only been twice, I just find some of the proposed solutions amusing.

I don't agree with you for the simple fact that accidents happen. Say one of these civic retards loses control and crashes into our rides or a group of us what then? It will be all over the news and we'll look like total assholes. If we want these meets to continue we have to find a way to control them better.
 
This is the problem people need to understand that if we want Meets/Shows and whatever to continue we can't have this shit going on! You imagine someone getting hit?! Do you believe the News crews won't jump on us like mad cow desease? Seriously, cops will begin giving tickets for spectators and would scatter meets every time more then 10 cars are in one spot. There's a reason why Chris threw a bottle at a car doing pulls last year. It's for the simple fact all these meets (most of them anyway) all have to do with MontrealRacing the very site were posting on. Yes its for sure a lot of people aren't on MR but the truth is if maybe if we start to show hatrid and authority to the people causing this we might be able to slow it down if not stop it completely.

The one thing that gets me the most enraged is just the fact you begin to see more and more families over at these meets and something people need to realize is think about your sister or brother getting hit by a drunk driver... or a retard racing in public, how would you feel?
 
EV has a point, there's nothing you can do to educate an adult, especially not half of these farmers that clearly have no "know how". If people want to be idiots, it's because they clearly are dumb in their driving 95% of the time and not just at meets. I fully agree with you guys also, that it un-safe and annoying, but to be honnest I was more annoyed by the people walking next to my car and rubbing on it than the chance of an idiot smashing into it..

It's a meet, a huge one packed with lots of ti counes either accept it or make your private meet, as said EV, the fun of the meet is simply based on the quantity of people showing up an not on the quality..
 
^^ so basically because my friends and i are from the country and have done/do farm work half of us have no "know how"? that's kind of a ridiculous statement to make

I wish I could say the same thing brah but the truth is, not only is the parking lot at Julep too small for crazy shenanigans to occur, it's that it's heavily supervised if not a well patrolled area. The worst that can happen there is a burn out/rips up or down Rue Des Jockeys which can end pretty quickly.

Why would they be canceled? If the cops shut it down just move somewhere else... As long as people aren't doing their dumb shit in between rows of cars, well, let retards be retards because like Sparco said, these people are too dumb to comprehend much.

I vote on Pisarski's plan. Organize a small group/commitee type thing to try and control the meets. Warn/Kick out the douchebags that do their stupidities.

If there were a group of people in charge of supervising/warning/kickin out people who are acting stupid, they would have a lot of support. I, for one, think that's a great idea. Problem is, most of these idiots doing burn outs and pulls are probably the type of people that have a problem with authority, and will most likely come back worse if we try to kick them out. Specially since we're in a public place and aren't legally allowed to tell them they can't be there.
The only options I see are starting a private FB group and inviting only people that we know have a head on their shoulders. Problem is, ti counes have a habit of figuring out where these meets take place and crashing the party..
Other option is to ask the police for help controlling the meets. I think that most cops are more concerned with safety than an illegal tailpipe... Besides, it would take a cop three months to fill out all the paperwork to hand out 500 illegal exhaust tickets..
 
^I don't like the idea of involving the cops because you never know when they may turn on you. On the other hand forming a anti-coune beatdown posse to me feels less like a good idea now because it would give MR a bad reputation and make us the bad guys. IMO we should brainstorm more ideas before settling on any solution.

You've obviously never been... How the hell do you fit 200 cars at julep...pretty useless comment.

They'll obviously just cancel the meet pretty sure OD will make it happen next week, they did it last year cancelled the last 3 months worth of meets. Involving the cops is just asking for trouble they'll turn on you faster than they need to make their quota.
