Which car to buy, for 25k and under before tax 2010+ coupe

I have multiple clients with 08 Lancers running over 100K no rust and still all original parts, they only come for maintenance. Have another client with an Outlander, 286,000 no rust and almost all original. With the 5K a year, your family would have warranty on the car for 10 years (10/160,000).

compare it to all the others on the list, drive them all to get a feel and then select the one she likes the most. tell the sales people to shut up during test drives

Frs/brz for me too. Brand new, critics are loving it and they look very good!

the first two years is when all the little or big problems come out with a completely new design, I would let others have the fun dealing with that.

Fast wasn't one of the criteria though.

There's that little trunk space?

yes!

With the top up you could put 4-5 grocery bags, with the top down, you can't fit one bag in the trunk. I bought special luggage custom made for the trunk so that when I go away for a weekend my girlfriend and I can bring a change of clothes but that's about it. interior storage is even worse.. a wallet in the glove box and a cell phone in the center console.. that's it.. No storage what so ever, It's the biggest design flaw of the whole car.

The Miata has pretty good storage, I had one before and it did the job well. I wouldn't go back to a Miata myself but if she's looking to go shopping with the car it's a much better option.

not my images but just to give you an idea..

That's why you have a warranty. And please, toyota/subaru are amongst the most reliable cars out there.

crazy how you guys are fighting over trunk space in convertibles when the OP clearly asked for a coupe suggestion....

OP

New -
Veloster - most stand out design
Civic Coupe - rational choice but boring and crappy interior (see all reviews)
Forte Koup - best bang for the buck in terms of interior equipement. SX has leather, auto climate control etc
Scion TC - also good bang for the buck, sporty interior

Than you have 2 door subcompact and compact hatches
Golf; Beetle, Fiat 500, Mini Couper (base model), Yaris

Old
- All of the above +
Genesis Coupe, Mustang, Camaro, Eclipse (although you can probably negociate a new base Eclipse to under 25K +tx)

IN my opinion she should do a test drive of the new Veloster, maybe shes gonna like it. The only draw back i heard from this car is the lack of steering feel and the not so great acceleration. But for your mom im pretty sure its not something important

Well if a convertible isn't considered a coupe, even though it's 2 seats and room for bags that she's looking for, then Veloster, Golf, Beetle, 500, Cooper and Yaris aren't very good answers either.

Just sayin'.

A coupe is a 4 seat sports car which is NOT convertible.

A sports car is a 2 door, 2 seater which is designed for performance driving and maneuverability.

Therefor a coupe is a 2 door, 4 seater, hard-top designed for performance driving and maneuverability, be it in FWD, AWD or RWD.

Nissan Altima

Honda Accord

Actually, the Accord Coupe and Altima coupe would be choices in the used category indeed.

Out of everything, I'd go for a 2010-2011 Accord Coupe and even though not an option because of the year, given the very low mileage it will be driven, I think a lady at a certain age should spoil herself a little and could go for something like a slightly older CLK.

Is the 99 civic manual? I would gladly buy a 99 Civic only driven 5000km/year by an old woman.

A convertible just isn't a coupe (unless we're talking about a coupe-convertible model) just like a coupe is not a convertible.

IMO, hatches are coupes either but I still put them in the a secondary list because some people do think of 2-door hatches as coupes and she might be looking for a 2-door hardtop car (hatch or coupe) and the OP just didn't mention it.

Eclipse ?

pas super rapide , le look et bien c'est dscutable mais en general c'est la préféré des Mme de 40-50 ans !!

meme que une 2012 elle serais tres proche du 25 000$ +taxe
