Event Coverage: Racing Box experience- May 25th

I was invited out to the Autodrome St Eustache to check out the Racing Box experience. Basically people can come out and have some fun driving some exotics on a race track. Its really cool and a lot of people were out and I was told this was their "small" day..I think I wanna go back and try it out for myself.

First step after signing in is getting into a SUV for a hands on theory class as the truck goes around the track to show the proper line around the race track.

Then the drivers have a choice of rides..

Its pretty cool too since while your waiting your turn to drive you can have some fun ripping around on a Segway.

Or try your hand in a racing simulator.

Once you have your theory done and you chose what car you want to drive it was time to hit the track. Each car had a instructor to make sure it was all safe.

Thanks for the amazing action shots Jag! I was there today driving the yellow Lambo! I'll scroll through your pictures...hopefully you caught one with me in the Gallardo :bigup:!

Everyone there today got their tickets a few months ago during the Christmas season when there was a 50% off promotion. There were different options for 2 / 3 / 5 laps in the Gallardo or the F430. I chose the 3 lap option and I believe it costed $150. The good news is the company is returning to Montreal in July and August with more options (Aston Martin, Porsche etc.). The bad news is it will cost twice as much as it did during Christmas time :(.

I dunno but I know his name is Kevin he owns a jetta and hes at st EU everyweek to drag race the aventador//r8 tt etc etc (friend of the owner of all those high end cars)

c'etais mon cadeaux de noel par ma mere je men souvien pu elle lavais acheter par le renard...jaurais du la pousser plus surment avec plus de tour jaurais encore plus aprecier mais jai quand meme adorer ma journee, 3 tour cetais vraiment agace loll
 
J'ai essayer aujourd'hui, et c'est vraiment le fun. C'est fou comment ça accélère. Et le son de la ferrari c'est malade. T'as le rugissement du moteur dans le dos et à 6-7k rpm, ça hurle pas mal, lol.

En passant, question à ceux qui sont aller, on atteignais quel vitesse environ dans la ligne droite? Avec 500hp et la pédale au fond, j'avais juste pas le temps de lacher la route du regard pour checker le speedo, lol...
 
Ya the SUV is like a mobile class room..people get in and they drive you around the track explaining the turns and what not..
 
Went today and did the 3 laps in the Ferrari and it was great!
I was surprised at how well organized it was also and everyone working there was super friendly.
The track is pretty small and you don't really get it past 5th in the straight away but still I got to drive a Ferrari which I probably won't have another opportunity to do.
I had the 50% off coupon also but I went with my father in law and I was able to add extra laps on my package for him so he was also able to do 3 laps in the Ferrari for 130$, regular I think is like 250$.

Je me demandait la meme question car moi aussi j'ai pas checker le speedo un seul fois lol.
 
j était la dimanche le 27 mai j'ai fait 2 tour en ferrari et 2 tour en lambo apres 1 tour le check engine de la lambo c'est allumer pas de power au fond en ligne droit ça tire pas du tout quand tu dit que mon srt8 tire pas mal plus que ça c'est très décevant je pensait que j'etait pour être impressionner mais non en ligne droite ma srt8 marche plus que ça peut être le fun pour ceux qui sont pas habituer d'avoir 500hp sous la pedal a tous les jours mais pour moi pas grand différence a part les freins et la tenue de route mais pour le power dessus
