Ok, if you guys are expecting some super epic super hero ass beating niggaz being sent to jail story, this isnt it lol. It's actually quite straight forward. warning -> long read. You guys want details, well ur gonna get em
This story involves me, person A (who i used to go to school with and would randomly bump into bars occasionally) person B (who is a co worker of person A) and person C who is a friend of B but not A
Last night I get home at 3 am to a facebook message that reads
"Hey bro I got potentially serious info about your civic . My friend was describing a car he saw jut like yours . Same fast wheels STAGG and all tears just like yours . Same color and year. I asked him to check under good but obv he couldn't . He told me theres a rust spot at the bottom of the black liner around the windshield , 2 holes on trunk lid where the usedto be a spoiler . And Nankang ns2 tires . If this sounds like yur whip . Contact me ASAP and i can let you know where it is and you go with cops etc .... xxx xxx xxxx call me"
I immediately call the number, no answer, call back and he answered. We discussed it, he was able to describe my car in more detail and said person B was at person C's house and at the neighbours is where he spotted my car and that the neighbour was bragging about recently aquiring the car. Except he had no idea who I was or that the car was stolen, just that it was a nice civic and it was being "worked" on by the neighbour. Right away, having this thread in mind and knowing my car person A digged deeper into the story to confirm it was infact my vehicle. He said he would try and call person B for an address but it was already 4am and B was drunk, so no gurantees on an answer
A calls me back 10 mins later saying he was able to get in touch with person B, but B couldn't remember C's address. He told me that the car he witnessed that resembled mine was in Point aux Cascades, street name xxx and person C had xxx and xxx vehicle in his driveway. That my car was at the direct neighbour's house to xxx and xxx vehicles.
I google mapped the street, took a street view and was able to find exactly person C's house. Armed with a baseball bat i set out at 4:30am to try and find my car.
I find the street, adrenaline pumping all kinds not knowing what to expect and take a slowww cruise down. In the distance I see person C's house and look at the neighbours house. Neighbour has a fully modded same year as mine civic, backed up infront of the garage door, and another lightly modded el sitting out front. Right then and there I had a feeling my car had to have been locked up in the garage that the modded civic is blocking. I made sure to take note of the address
I drove down a couple streets, parked and called the cops and briefly explained everything i just wrote. To make a long story short a patrol officer contacted me and told me I did not have enough information to issue a warrant to search somebody's garage for stolen parts//car. They said saying a friend of a friend might have possibly seen a civic that coould be mine is not enough solid evidence to warrant anything. They said if person B was willing to give a written statement to call them back with his info and they can send a patrol car to him to take down all the info and get a warrant. I tried calling back person A but no answer. I then txted him all the details and this point and almost 6am, i headed home to sleep.
Around 9am person A starts to text me asking all the details about getting the statement for the warrant. I told him person B needs to give me his full name, phone number and be willing to give a written statement. Person A said he'd contact B then call me with his answer. A calls back saying because of some legal issues, B does not want to be involved BUT that the car was not in the garage but in the neighbour's backyard in plain sight sketchy as fuck. Thats how he noticed it in the first place.
This is now 11am and i start work. As I got there I decided to try calling the cops again with this new found information and see if it changes anything. I explain to them my car might have been seen in the backyard of XXX address and if they can send an officer to check it out. They told me they cannot enter the backyard to check for my car without permission from the owner of the house. They said they can send an officer to ask to check the backyard, but if the house owner refuses, they would need a warrant from a judge to check. I asked if they can just ask the neighbour (person C) to go in their backyard to see the car (because thats where it was spotted from in the first place) they said it would not change anything because they would need to check to VIN to confirm it was my vehicle. After a little bit of bickering with the police they said they would send an officer and try their best
At this point, I feel like im shit out of luck. No thief with a stolen car in their backyard would willingly allow a cop to check. At this point I felt all hope was lost even though i KNEW i was sooo close.
Person A calls me asking what the cops said to the new information. I explain and asked him how well he knew person C. I suggested maybe he can act as person B, fill out a statement saying he witnessed my car then we can get a warrant. He said he doesn't know C at all and acting as B could make things worst.
I go into work and start working. Person A txts me something around the lines of "dude i feel so bad, i feel like just busting up, seeing ur whip with my own eyes, then i can fill out a statement" I thought about that for a second and figured if I saw the car with my own eyes, and was able to identify it without a doubt it is infact my car, maybe it would be enough to go to the police station, file a statement and get that warrant. And knowing time was of the essence as these car's are taken apart and chopped with no hesitation I offered to leave work, meet up with person A and we both bust down, bust into the guy's backyard and check this shit out live. A agrees, i tell my boss ill be back in an hour and head out to meet with A
It is now 11:30, I meet up with A, he gets into my car and we head down. Now we had no idea what to expect going in. There could have been guy's stripping the car live as we pulled up, dogs, weapons, who knows. They are criminals after all. So we decide the safest thing would be to park a couple streets down and just walk by as "casuals" and see whats up. As we approach the house we notice that that guy's neighbour has a long ass driveway so we were going to walk up that and maybe be able to see into the backyard. As we get closer, we notice an SQ vehicle already paked in person C's driveway. And I notice the cop in the backyard, which means she got permission...?
I walk straight up the driveway towards the backyard and low and behold, my car is sitting in the corner, as seen in the 3rd pic I posted. The cop had her notepad out and I saw her writing down the plate n what not. I walk straight towards her, she looked like she was about to taze my ass and i said "hey! c mon char ca!" so she looks at me "ta pogner ca ou toé?!" so im like "nononono le char sta moi, ctais voler" so she like oooh ur the owner.
Basically the car was not in the neighbour's backyard, but in person C's backyard. And he had let the cop in the backyard because he rents out his basement to some ti-counes and the car "was theirs" so he was unaware. (talk about being lucky eh)
As me n the cop was talking about the car, some kid came out from the basement and tried walking off. the cop stopped him and started interrogating. Beside my car was car X and the cop said that in the backseat of car X she noticed some car parts. She asked me to check to see if they were mine. I see a speaker and an HID kit on the backseat, confirming they are mine. Cop said that this car was registered under the name of the kid that tried to walk off. He was even trying to argue that the parts belonged to the car. But he was sayng the car is under his name but not his. And kept denying having anything to do with the theft of my car
Cop told the kid she is going to seize his car and strip the thing A-Z to find any more parts. And that she was going to arrest him and bring him to the station for questioning. He opted instead to rat out a good 5 or 6 names of people more involved in the robbery of my car instead of being arrested on the spot (snitches get stiches homie...! hope ur bros are reading this)
Anyways cop had me to do a quick run around of the car to mark any missing parts and then we sat in her car to fill out a report on the parts.
things i noticed missing
- 2 front speakers
- head unit
- hid kit
- front grill
- obvious stuff that was broken//removed to steal the car
....yes thats it. EVERYthing of VALUE is still in the car, fully intact. Head, engine, tranny, wheels, suspension, turbo kit, injectors, PCM etc etc all still there untouched...!
i asked person C, how long has the car been here. He said since monday, it was parked out front for 2 days, then they moved it to the back. Hell, even the liscense plate was still on. Amateur hour much? (keep in mind they are all 18-21 ti-counes)
All in all, person A played a HUUUUGE role in all of this, i couldnt have done any of this without him and he knows that. I know you're reading this bro, thanks again a million
Right now the car is with the cops, going to be dusted for finger prints, and I should have it sometime next week
As for the thieves. I know you're probably reading this. Consider yourself lucky this ended peacefully with the police and not violently like it could have.
