whats up will all those 250cc bike i see everywhere on the road and for sale do we need a licence 6a for those if not ill go buy one its cheap has hell

You still need a 6B at least. I bought a CBR125R for my girlfriend when she started her motorcycle course, ended up abandoning them and I sold the bike. I have to say they are fun little bike to ride, I wouldn't buy one for myself, but for city commuting they are perfect. Also, hard to beat a 3L/100 km gas consumption.

I've had my 250R since April 2009. Not bored yet.

The only negative thing I can say about it is that long highway rides are buzzy. But less than 30 minutes is no problem and Montreal is going crazy and reducing the limits everywhere. On the island you got the 40 westward from the 540, the 20 westwards from 55th ave. the 13 and the 15N which are the only 100kph zones.

They're dirt cheap to buy and maintain. Lastly they're fun as hell. I hold the motto that it's better to drive a slow car/motorcycle fast than a fast one slow.

Some of my videos:

you barely passed by that dump truck on the highway lol.

a 250r stock does the 1/4 mile in like 16 seconds.. thats pretty brutal for a motorcycle, shit I think my Scion tC is faster than that.

plus i think a 250r looks pussy as shit. skinny small tires, single disc in the front. you park that thing next to a real SS it looks like a fucking toy lol.

nevertheless, they're great for putting around town, and learning how to ride on, but for actual sport riding or touring, not the most impressive i must say.

^^^I'm pretty sure with a 600cc+ bike, that second video wouldn't have been nearly as sketchy. I've done some insane emergency stops on my FZ1, which I don't think can be duplicated on a 250 (with the brakes, suspension, and tires it comes with).

I've heard the power equates to around a 250hp car, which is adequate, however it's the other essentials (like brakes and suspension) that would push me towards a 600cc.

For commuting around town, a 250 is a great cheap mode of transportation. However, if you plan to go for rides on a curvy country road, the 250 will get old really fast!

So if you guys believe a 250 is only good for city driving and pushing it for highway, what do u think of a 125cc bike?

I think its a good thing people are buying 250 ninjas to start with. Canada and the Us is pretty much the only place you can get your license and go out and buy a 300km/h suicide machine. Places like England have a 33hp limit on the first bike you buy. Actually your limited to 125cc when you have your temp. And if you really think about it a 600cc SS bike is way too much for the street and physically a pretty big machine. I really hope they start making small cc bikes with really good tires suspension and brakes and start selling them here. something like a gsxr400

^^

So with SAAQ logic, if the bike was let's say 126 cc you'd be legal on the highway ha?

Yeah saaq logic......Did you know I cumulated 7 months of riding experience in the winter from late October to May and was allowed to go for my road exam because I had passed the 7 months probation!!!! anyways
