Is it just me or are people overly friendly there? I drove to NY to go shopping w/ my gf and I encountered a few people there and they're all helpful and welcoming it's crazy. Asked some guy where something was and he was like "Follow me man I'll show you" and he lead me 15 minutes away... when we got there I offered him $20 for his time and he was like no don't worry about it have a good day and drove off. What a nice place compared to QC, being born and living in Montreal all my life I've noticed everyone here seems angry/in a rush to do something. Only complaint is that their restaurants are shit compared to ours and there's an excessive amount of fatties in hover-rounds, everything else was golden though.
 
The French fucked it up for Montreal. They're not so friendly in France as well.

English people in Montreal are overall pretty friendly.

In the city people are real douches. Kinda like Montreal.
If you go outside mtl people are super friendly (sometimes too much)..

Just got back from jersey, and I find everyone is so much more relaxed and with more patience. As soon as I passed the border the cutting off people without flashers started, honking and shit. Ppl here are always in a rush.

I once stopped my car at a garage in Jersey because I was lost and I almost got beat up by the owner who was running after my car to tell me to get the FUCK OFF HIS PROPERTY.. WTF

I never mentioned anything about language. When I say "the French", I mean francophones from Quebec.
It's like the hicks from down south in the US. Not so friendly either.

I didn't travel much around the province but whenever I'm in a smaller town, people are super friendly. I really don't see what you're talking about.

Maybe if you speak english to them and act like a douche you will get treated like shit tho.

Just New York State, which is why I'm so surprised... It only took me 40 min to get to the border from my gfs house near Brossard lol. I mean you go an hour south to get to plattsburgh and pople are 10x nicer, it's like they're from a different planet than us or something. It was the same when I went to Boston, too. Cool accent they have aswell lol, amusing to hear
 
yeah people in NY state are really cool, or at least most of them. It's generally the case in smaller towns.

Yeah well people are as friendly here, just not in Montreal area.
Go in Québec City, Sherbrooke, etc... most people are very warm and even more in small villages.

In Iowa, i arrived at the hotel at like 11pm, resto was closed, the lady attending literally offered me some of the food she brought for herself. Crazy nice, that would NEVER happen here.

girls from upstate NY(talking Champlain/plattsburgh here) are fucking hideous... Burlington is pretty uggers too by comparison.
