Oh wow, nice find!

Really interesting to look back and see what was "hot" then. I can't believe the Toyota Paseo made the list lol

I think the article does a good job of representing what enthusiasts thought of these cars back then, as in how they thought of the cars based on what they delivered for the price and not reliability myths and tuning legends like they are now.

The Miata and Civic are still going strong from that list.

Did not realize the MX-3 was a V6 either...very interesting read.

the fact they sideline the 240, MR-2 and CRX shows how much car reviewers don't know their ass from their elbow in terms of what will end up being a decent car and what won't.

Barring World War III or the total collapse of General Motors ( neither which are expected to happen in our lifetime),the Geo Storm will be a yearly resident in our top ten.

LOL

Remember that a Celica GT coupe (2.2L n/a) retailed around 22k can$ in 1990, the MR2 turbo T-top was around 25-28k can$ and the Alltrac was around 40k can$. Those cars where not affordable at all! Compare it to a Chevy Vette that was priced at 35k can$.

Meanwhile, the fully loaded Civic was around 15k$...

Also how the Teg, Civic and Miata are now legends while the rest on that list faded into obscurity....
