Infiniti G37 reliability and opinions wanted

Hi all,

I'm starting to look around for a new daily driver, and I've narrowed my signts on the 2008 or 2009 Infiniti G37 coupe. There are some nice examples out there in manual for a fairly decent price. I did not want the price of maintaining a BMW or Audi, and this seems to fit the bill nicely after those cars.

So, are you guys aware of any well known issues with the car, and what I should look out for when starting my search?

Test drive a 2010-2012 V6 Genesis Coupe and compare it to a G37. If for you the difference between the 2 car is worth the 5,000-10,000$ price increase for a G37, stick with the G37.

If not get a Genesis and save that 5,000-10,000$ for a real investment

For starters it's a bit heavier on gas and the brakes seem to wear out faster than other cars. Mechanically though things seem to be pretty ok

Good point, I had not really considered the Genesis coupe, and to be honest, mostly due to its 'boy-racer' looks it doesn't really appeal to me. I'm 30, and am looking for something in the low 20k pricerange that is dependable, still sporty, and can be driven in the winter, and is suitably understated in looks and demeanour.

No, not going for the all wheel drive one. Meh, plenty of people driving RWD in the winter. Easy on the throttle with good winter tires....what's the problem?
